Dear PSers

I am having so much fun designing a ring with Greenlakes Jewelry!! I think I have settle on the setting (see below), but now I need to find the perfect center stone. Any comments would be welcome :).

I'm looking for a 0.75ct ish, VSI-SI (eye clean), I-K color stone with the best cut and sparkle I can afford (would love H&A). I am looking to spend around $2000.

I am having a little trouble finding something though. Is it better to wait till after the holidays and stocks replenish?

Thank you!!

FWIW, the design is beautiful!

I did a quick search for you, with close to your specs and did find a J SI2 at GOG and a M SI2 at HPD that are in your budget.

I don't think your budget is realistic for VS1 - SI1 clarity in those colors for the cut that you want, based on the search above. The two SI2 options above are "pretty" eye-clean, with the obstructions not in the table for the most part.

HTH!

Also, the BGD diamonds -- over your budget of $2k. What's your budget ... for real?

Thanks!

I said around 2k :) By which I meant 1,800-2,500.

What's the best way to choose beyond the specs?

They all look pretty to me. :)

When I saw your setting I thought that an OEC (old European cut) would look right at home in it. With the scrolls and vine details it looks antiquey (in a good way ::) ) Have you seen pics of this style of rounds? Here is one that is <just> over your budget but it is 0.98 H/I VS at ~2600. Here is the linky, but you have to scroll down to it further down the page: http://jewelsbyericagrace.com/loose_antique_and_estate_diamonds
ETA: Its the 2nd stone on the page
