Hi All!

Been doing my homework for a few weeks, looking to make a move here in the next week or so.

Here are my parameters:

GIA certified
.96 to 1.20 ct
D or E color
SI1 or higher clarity (I am hearing that there is no real need to go higher than SI1)
65 to70% table and depth, VG to Excellent Cut
Fluorescence - None

I am leaning toward Blue Nile because that seems to be the standard but I would love to hear other sites you all recommend.

Thanks in advance and any help is much appreciated.

Clark

Blue Nile doesn't give any information other than the cert (unless it's one of their signature cuts), and you really need more for princesses if you can't use your eyes.

If you're comfortable going to a G in color and up a couple of hundred $, this one looks great:

This one hits all your criteria but it's $5k:

This one might be nice, and James Allen will provide ASETs upon request:

Hope this helps somewhat! :wink2:

Thanks for the links guys.

A couple further questions:

I am not clear on what table and depth %'s I should be targeting. A jeweler I was talking to said 65-70 for both, but what is ideal for both to be?

Also, what about crown angle and % and pavilion angle and %?

Lastly, what is the proper way to analyze an ASET report, and how is it different from the Ideal Scope?

Thanks so much.

Generally, table should be smaller than depth. Table in the high 60s to low 70s, depth 70s. AGS is the only lab that cut grades a princess and craftedbyinfinity princess, AGS0 cut graded stones, are typically in the 75% depth range.

There is no angles for princess as there are more than 1 set of crown, pavilion angles if you look at the faceting pattern.

How to interpret ASET.

So there are no angles of crown and pavilion to analyze for a princess?

yap, no angles, if you are thinking of using the HCA, no, HCA is only calibrated for a 57 facets modern round brilliant.

Therefore you need ASET images.
