Re: Help me decide on this 1.06 Carat E color, SI1, Triple E

None of us can tell you that GIA screwed up. It is what it is in their eyes. That being said it does have a lot of stuff
in it. I have seen lots of SI1 stones that have a lot less in them. I have seen SI2 stones that have a lot less in them but
thats not how grading works. It all depends how visible those items are. If you have seen the stone and cant see any
of the inclusions (its eye-clean to your satisfaction) then that should make you feel pretty good. However, there may be
a mind clean issue that is bothering you. If you cant get over that, then you might want to keep looking for a "cleaner"
SI1 stone.

EDIT - if you can tell us the price on this stone we can see what is out there with possibly less inclusions.

Thanks for the reply

I don't think that I have any problem with my "mind clean" I'm just concerned that I might be getting an SI2 sold as an SI1. The price i'm getting just for this loose diamond is $8500 cdn. It has an HCA rating of 1.7.

It def was the best looking stone in the store, all the other SI1's had black inclusions. I really like this stone, but i'm not a trained gemologist or anything. The only thing that bugs me is that the other wholesaler is telling me that there is no way I can get a Triple Ex, E color SI1 for $8500
