Hello all. I'm on a mission to declutter and simplify my life (quality over quantity!!!) I've been uncovering things I didn't know I had. While cleaning out an old hidden jewelry box I stumbled upon 2 mismatched diamonds. One is a bezel-set slider pendant. There are visible inclusions, and my guess is it's somewhere between .5 & .7ct. The other is a French wire bezel set earring (I lost the other years ago)...somewhere in the same size range. I don't think it's particularly good quality either.
I also have two decent matching .9ct (each, so 1.8tcw) diamond studs.
I was thinking of resetting the existing studs with halos, since the only time I wear them now is when I feel I NEED to wear earrings, but on me they don't make a huge impact (I'm tall with long blonde hair so they hide easily). I might wear them more for work/etc with a halo, but certainly not for racing cars, which is the only time I wear them now
...yes. Under a helmet at times. Shoot me.
My other option with the studs is to just leave them as is and wear them more often.
The other two bezel set diamonds are a trickier issue....I think they're pretty low quality (thanks, ex!), and I'm at a loss for what to do with them. The necklace one is the worse of the two. Should I combine them both into a pendant? Turn them into semi-matching studs and use them for race days, saving the bigger ones (reset or not) for more appropriate use? What do you do with that odd diamond or two that you can't sell or trade and that isn't worth much and has zero sentimental value? I'm going to have those two popped out of their settings tomorrow to see how far apart they are from each other in color/size/quality......
Thanks for any guidance you can give me....
