I've decided to abandon my hopes of trading in my old Ering that went unused to buy one now because the jeweler I previously used is drastically inflating prices to make up for a trade but will give me decent prices to buy outright. A wholeseller in Houston has offered me 3500 for my old ring which gives me some breathing room at Whiteflash. I'd consider Brian Gavin but his stock seems minimal in my range.

Which of these diamonds is a better value spec wise? I have the AGS stone reserved. The tempting thing about it is that it fits their A Cut Above classification and I couldn't find any inclusions and the size is negligible while it would be easier to call 1.46 a carat and a half over the 1.405. However the GIA stone was just as nice to me other than the inclusion visible from the bottom and it saves me about $1200 dollars.

I was hoping for 1.5cts but after looking at quite a few at Whiteflash I'm seeing more value at 1.4cts. These are two I was torn on. The cheaper, 1.47ct diamond is eye clean from the top, but there is a pesky inclusion I can see pretty easily from the bottom. The setting choice is a very open prong type that I worry could make the inclusion visible despite its VS2 rating, but honestly I doubt this is the case. The other diamond is very clean. Looked a long time and couldn't find an inclusion anywhere. Even with a loop I was hard pressed to find one.

And also, if someone wants to buy my old Ering in a hurry I'll sell it cheap. Even a $4k offer is more than I'm currently getting and I'm betting the ring could sell for $6500 or more. Whiteflash told me they would sell the diamond alone for about $5k.

So if someone wants a Ering on a value budget or wants to take the time to resell it privately, message me and I'll send you pictures and report number.

EGLUSA-1.27ct-G-SI3- no noticeable inclusions so I'd almost call it eyeclean, but the white inclusions give it a little bit of a white cloudy look when compared to nicer stones. Alone you wouldn't know that though. Very pretty ring but my girlfriend knows I bought it for someone else 10 years ago. Even though I never used it. Set in a yellow gold channel set with 10 diamonds at VS2 H total .68cts.
