Help me choose my first mmd studs please!

Hi all,

I’m a long time lurker and am now looking to buy my first lab diamonds (studs). I think I’ve narrowed it down to two vendors and need some opinions.

First is distinctive gems, where I can get 1.5 ctw g-h si1-s12 for ~2700

second is this pair from diamonds by Lauren that are 2ctw e si1 for 2495

2.06ctw E SI1 Round Lab Grown Diamond Earrings

This is a great pair of 2.03ctw E SI1 Round Brilliant Lab Grown Diamond Earrings. The diamonds are very lively and set in 18kt yellow gold!

Thoughts? Both vendors seem highly regarded here. I’m looking for sparkle most, color second, then clarity because i think that’s what makes sense for earrings. I’d like yellow gold martini settings that’ll sit flat.

Flexible on size and would be happy with either of these. Open to 1.25 - 2ct total range. I just want to pick good ones.

What have they told you about the cuts? I know Jonathan can approximate AGS cut grades. I imagine DBL can too, but it’s not in the listing.

For me, verified (by trusted vendors like you’re suggesting) SI eyeclean in studs is totally fine. I am wearing one S12 myself. I’ve literally never been able to find the inclusion without my loupe.

For me, I’d be tempted by the DBL pair if you can verify the cut quality. If they are more “GIA Excellent” than “AGS0” I’d probably go with the DistinctiveGem pair (assuming the Rhino Report says AGS0).
