OK after much time and effort I am down to 2 diamonds. Both are hearts and arrows. Both are GIA certified. Major difference is color aand symmetry.

Diamond A
.90
G
VS1
Polish Excellent
Symmetry Very Good
Depth 60.8
Table 55
Crystal in table
$4680

Diamond B
.90
I
VS1
Polish Excellent
Symmmetry Excellent
Depth 61.5
Table 55
Cloud in table
$4400

Diamond A gets my vote. Not loving the depth on diamond B. I would go for the better color, IMHO.

Welcome, NJ diamond looker:

Don't worry.....generally, as long as the depth is under 61.9, it's not a cause for concern. As example, here's a beautiful super-ideal cut diamond with a 61.5 depth here. I personally wouldn't be concerned about the depth of either stone.... but I don't see any of the crown/pavilion angle info, and those relate directly to make.

It seems odd that there is a 2-grade color difference in these stones, and yet not much price difference. I would wonder why, and I'd guess the answer lies in the make (crown/pav angles would help in ascertaining the make).

Both have the potential to be great stones, but I think you need a bit more info. Good luck.

I, too, was wondering about the little dif in price between the G & the I. Perhaps the G is just out of range of ideal w/ the "very good symetry".

From the numbers, I''m actually liking A.

I like your choice of .90 - save some money w/o sacrificing too much size in the just under a carat mark!

hard to say really...i prefer diamonds with smaller depths just because it makes the stones look bigger BUT you need more information on both of them (crown and pav angles from the certs or a sarin) to really tell more...

who says they are H&A diamonds? just curious.

Good luck!
