Hi Folks,

I''ve found two beautiful stones that are both gorgeous and very similar in price. I''d love to get some advice on which has "better" stats. Here are the two...

1.26 F VS1 Ex/Ex/Ex (Sym, Polish, Cut)
Depth 61.3%
Table 54%
Crown 34.5
Pavillion Depth 43.1%

1.27 G VS1 Ex/Ex/Ex (Sym, Polish, Cut)
Depth 62.3%
Table 57%
Crown 34.9
Pavillion Depth 43.1%

Any ideas?

Thanks a ton!!

Do you have any more information such as the culet or the girdle thickness. Just my novice opinion, but the pavillion angle seems a little large. If you have any sarin data, I would suggest running it through the HCA.

What is the price on these?

1.27 G VS1
cutlet: none
girdle: medium to slightly thick, faceted

1.26 F VS2
cutlet: none
girdle: thin to medium, faceted

Alas I don''t have the sarin data... Wish I did...

Those are pavillion depth %''s not angles. Must be from Tiffany???

The HCA score will calculate based on the data you now have; not sure to what extent you are handicapped by having % for pavillion (generally the more important piece over crown), but with crown angles supplied, this may make this moot. Both seem to be lovely. Personally, (actually, in your second post you reported diamond #2 as VS2, not VS1, so I am presuming it is actually VS2; if both VS1, #1 with the F color and lower HCA score would predispose me to that one) I find I''m heavily influenced by data on diamonds, but I would be completely torn between these two (scoring 1.2 and 1.6 respectively, both TIC and both having the quality factors of: ex/ex/ex/vg), and would want to look at them both and make a visual comparison to make the final call...the pepsi challenge...trying to get at least 3 out of 5, right? as the one to go with.

The depth % is usually out by a bit - so enter 43.3% - you will find the 34.5 works better - all other things being equal.

If they have the % they also have the angle.
