I am sorry to revisit the same topic, but I now have several options of baguettes to choose from to go with my 1.79 center stone (going for a HW type setting). My initial thought is that it may be better to go a little narrower so as to not overpower the center stone, but I am having problems trying to picture what the finised product will look like. I am going to post the picture below - I would love to know what people would choose if it was a ring they were building. Thanks so much - your thoughts and information will be much appreciated.

Option #1

Option #2

Option #3

I personally would go a little smaller on the sidestones so that the center stone stands out even more.

ETA: I do like option #4 best though... even I think #2 has narrower baguettes...

Option #4

The picture for #4 certainly does look the best. When you say smaller, do you mean narrow or shorter - or both. I think I like the width of #2 the best (so that the width does not overpower the width of the center stone), but they seem too long to me. I was told that the length would be fine and should not be as big of as a concern as the width.

i vote for number 2!!! they make the center stone pop. i think big ones would be too heavy looking with a large diamond like that.

Yes, I meant shorter as well. That way your center stone would look even more HUGE in comparison!

#4 gets my vote. #3 looks too wide to me.

#4 looks the best.

Thanks all - it looks like #4 is getting a lot of support. I was worried initially that #4 is too wide, but I do admit that think it looks nice in the picture. Does anyone have any information regarding what HW or Graff or the like that have this setting use in terms of width and length ratios as compared to the center stone?

What''s the ring size poorboy?

Sorry, I should have said it is 4.5.

Not sure why, but I say #4! It looks more balanced than the other pics.

Do you have the dimensions on these? The ring size question by PS is a good one. You don''t want them too long since your FF has small fingers. I don''t like #3...too chunky for me. I''m gravitating to #2, but am worried that they may be too long.

Please provide measurements if you have them.

I unfortunately do not have the dimensions, but my estimate (probably good within .5mm) based on preparing the proportions to the known width of the center stone (which is 7.8mm) is that the wide end of the baguette is about 2.85 mm and the length is about 5.8mm. I was definitely concerned they were too long too, but was told that the length is not as important. I wonder if this means that he will just set it a little higher or something to make the side stones look shorter (since they would be at a greater angle due to the higher setting).

~~I like option #4 the most...

Here they all in one scale, did not help me though i like them all and they look close in length anyway. If i had to choose then # 4, but realise that may be it's because they photographed the best.

Wow, thanks for that. I am not overly computer savy, and would not have been able to do that. It is really helpful to see them all next to each other like that

I like 2 and 4 the best, but I slightly prefer 2.

Either 2 or 4, depending on how long the stone is on her finger - #2 may be too long on a 4.5 finger. #1 looks way too triangular to me for some reason

I like # 2 and # 4.

I like number two, but my comment is about proportions not about the stones themselves. I love the long and thin look with baguette side stones. It looks so elegant to me. However, I really don''t know much about cut quality in baguettes, so I can''t comment about that.

How did you make the pictures smaller? I am would like to try to make them even smaller yet to closer approximate the size in real life so that I can get an even better perspective. I am starting to worry that #2 may be too narrow.
