8 years ago I purchased a princess cut from Blue Nile and it was their signature cut. I can't recall the color but it was at F or above. I believe it was actually D. Anyway it was truly a spectacular stone. My memory is basically worthless, but it was about 1.25 carat. Of course about a year or two ago I threw away the paperwork on it with the GIA info. Ring was long gone with the ex wife. I am currently shopping for a stone and setting and want to get another princess cut. I was looking at this stone for the last few weeks and was about to buy it

Then I found a few at brilliance that were looking really nice. One was a few http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-8203362-1.31-carat-Princess-diamond-D-color-VVS1-clarity.aspx less and one a little more. I was leaning towards the 1.31 carat stone because of the color.

Then I stumbled into this forum and was hoping some of you all could help me make a better decision. I am getting into a bit of a time crunch as I need it in hand by the 27th of May.

I used the finder tool on the front page and found these also.

I would really appreciate any help in wading through these. They all look pretty nice. I was hoping to stay around $15k for the stone and setting. Most settings I like are under $1000. I can stretch into these other stones if someone says they would be well worth it.

Sorry about that second paragraph. Some how I pasted a link in the middle of it. I can't figure out how to edit the post.

You want a princess cut. What does the recipient want?

You like the $1000 setting. You arent wearing it.

What does the wearer want.

Unless.there are cultural reasons for such high clarity you are just wasting money in VVS in a princess cut. Princesses hide inclusions very well so an eyeclean VS2 will be indistinguishable from an IF to the naked eye. Beauty, sparkle and fire don't come from color or clarity with diamonds. Blue Nile Signature diamonds are very well cut. That's why the last stone was so lovely: cut. We can help you find one as nice or nicer. But first, let's make sure you are taking the wearer's tastes and desires into account.

Thanks for the help. Sorry I have not responded sooner. Her favorite is the princess. She also likes very basic solitaire settings. I will be holding off on this purchase at least for a bit. I will post up again when I'm ready.
