I'm torn between 3 diamonds that fit my budget right now. They all look nice to me and I am most likely obsessing so I need an outside opinion.

The first I'm leaning toward the one I like most but not sure of the Aset image:

second looks good as well but not sure of the dark spots in the crown on the Aset:

third is look stunning but a smaller stone which holds me back :

So what do you think smaller flashy stone or is slightly bigger better?
Thanks for your help in advance!

Princess cuts face up slightly smaller than other cuts, so I would keep the weight up as much as your budget allows. Either of the first two stones will be gorgeous. How do you plan to set the diamond?

I'm pretty sure she wants a halo. I might have to include her on the setting though cause don't want to mess up. Why is it the color you are concerned with?
Thanks for the help BTW.

I"m sorry. I should have said that any of your choices would be gorgeous. The reason I would choose one of the first two is because they will face up larger than your third choice. I'm not particularly color sensitive so an I color is fine for me. I had an I ascher and I could only see slight tint when viewing through the pavilion (side) of the stone in some lighting environments. If your are planning to have the stone set in a halo then this view will be hidden anyway. If your gf is very color sensitive though you may want to consider going up to a G or H. Princess cuts can hold some color in the corners, but again, whether or not you or your gf would even notice depends on sensitivity to color. For me, especially in a halo an I would be fine. :))

No need to be sorry. I agree with you the only reason I considered the third stone was because the Aset image was soooo good. I think an I will be fine. Actually I probably care more than she does lol. Thanks for your help.

Of course! :)) Looking forward to seeing what you decide!

I like te .698 ct best too, but it faces up the smallest.

I like the .807 ct next. It is a perfect square. The facet patterns in the ASET have nice character.

Thanks GirlyGirl I agree totally. But I think a lil bigger in this situation is better.

I actually think you're overanalyzing the ASETs a bit. They all look fantastic. Can't go wrong. What IS different among the 3 stones is the faceting pattern, so perhaps what you're saying is that you prefer the faceting of the smallest stone. Which may mean you prefer more smaller facets over fewer larger ones. All of them are 2-chevron stones, but it does appear that the 0.698 has more virtual facets. In that case, I'd say to choose the 0.807, which also seems to have a "busier" faceting pattern, though not quite to the degree as the first one. The 0.808 has a much different appearance to my eye. Hope that helps!

I'd also consider lower clarity, such as an eye-clean SI1, if you can find one. That might help you maximize size within your budget. The color (I) is the limit of where I'd recommend a princess to have it still look white. An advantage of a halo setting is that it may cover up some of the pavilion view, which is where color in an I stone is usually seen most prominently. I have an I color princess ACA, and it was a great buy which allowed me to get the size I wanted, so I recommend I color to a lot of people.

@jstarfireb: Yeah I kind of figured I was splitting hairs between the three in terms of tha Aset's. That's interesting about the patterning and chevrons. I think I'm pretty set on the .807, trusting my initial instinct. Thanks for your help and guidance it was very informative!

Re: Help me choose a ags0 princess cut *updated*

I finally went with the .807 ct one. Here are some pictures of it. Victoria at Whiteflash was able to find me a beautiful halo setting which is in the process of being made. I opted for their ACA melee diamonds throughout to setting. Cant wait for the final product!

Thanks again for all your help everyone!

Definitely a wise choice to go with a larger one! It will be gorgeous!

Lovely choice (although you really couldn't go wrong with any of those)! Can't wait to see the final product!
