Ok friends, I'm bored with my collection right now, and trying to keep myself from buying more shiny new toys. I have this lovely moval cluster that I bought a few years ago that I've always wanted to give a make-over, because
1. it feels like a franken-ring since the band and the cluster don't read to me as being of the same era,
2. it needs a major prong overhaul, some are missing and one of the halo stones is very loose, and
3. it's currently a size 5, and doesn't even fit my pinky.

My thoughts are as follows:
1. I definitely want the head to be platinum, and rotated E-W,
2. I would like the band to be yellow gold, but thinner and more interesting (sculptural or carved shoulders?),
3. should the halo stones be larger? (this would be sz. 8.5-9, so more finger coverage wouldn't be a bad thing, but I don't want to overwhelm the moval. Center stone is 10x5mm, halo were stated to be.12-.15 each.),
4. what about bezel rather than prongs? Lose too much light return?,
5. I like the air line gap, but it's not a must.
Here are some inspo pics. Unfortunately, not many antique E-W clusters out there.

@Niel 's fabulous spinel cluster:

Love the shoulders on these:

So as you can see, I don't have a cohesive style idea, but gosh this has the potential to be so beautiful, I'm open to all thoughts/inspo!
Would likely go to DKJ, CvB, or Sako. Thoughts?
