HELP! lost diamond from engagement ring!

Hi! Yesterday my wife called me to say that the diamond form her engagement ring is lost. I bought the ring in December 2000. Surely it should last longer than this!? It was only a .25 carat diamond, but this is quite expensive for us. Should our jeweller have to replace it or will we need to resort to the insurance. Any advice would me much appreciated!

Hmmm...you can try the jeweler and see what he says, but I think this will probably need to go through insurance anyway. What kind of setting was the diamond in?
