Hi everyone,

I am in the market for an e-ring and am getting very excited to buy it. I''ve done a lot of research and don''t want to jump the gun-I really want to make the best decision possible. For my budget, I''ve narrowed it down between VS2 F''s and G''s, ideal cut with the max brilliance proportions (thanks to everyone on this board for your help & info!). My dilemma is choosing between the two colors, which is a trade off with size. Basically, I''m wondering if a 1.5-1.8ish carat set in white gold or platinum that''s an ideal cut with the recommended table & depth, etc. proportions will show much of a difference between an F or G color. My gf and I have looked at rings together and I don''t think either of us is color sensitive. So obviously I''d go ahead and buy the larger G right? My only concern is that years later either one of us may become color sensitive. For this size and cut, does it make a difference between F & G? I know this is an age-old question, I''m just hoping that this wonderful forum can help me make a huge decision. Thank you!

G is at the top of the near colorless range. I saw an ideal cut I/J stone the other day that looked as good as my stone which is borderline G/H. So I am very confident that G would be a VERY safe color!

Should not matter. Color grading is pavilion up. In a well cut diamond in normal view table up, color of light return due to body color of the diamond is negligible.

Oh wow, thanks for such fast & helpful responses! I had seen opinions on smaller & larger diamonds, but I wasn''t sure if it would be noticeable within this size range. Thank you for the peace of mind.

You won''t notice any difference between reliably graded F and G colour from any angle in this size, no worries.
