Hi I am splitting hair between the two, both stones look good and have good brilliance and fire. but the VS1 E is actually more expensive than the VVS2 F, should I really bother spending the extra money on lower clarity (i.e more inclusions) but higher colour or should I be pretty happy with the VVS2 F, which is a very very clean stone with just a pinpoint, both are GIA cert and triple EX.

Please advise?

Please post the GIA lab report #

Also, is it necessary to have VVS or VS1?? If you went with VS2 or even SI, you'd certainly get more bang for your buck. Color is subjective, so I won't go there. ;))

Wanted to add that if the stone is less than 2.5 ct, then you'd easily find a VS2 that is totally eye clean. Just a thought!

Hi - the stone is 1.7ct, I definitely want a VS1 or VVS2 stone, I am not keen on going any further down on the clarity, am happy to pay that price but the vs1 E is more expensive than the vvs2 f and whether I should be splitting hair on that, as in should I spend the extra on vs1 E or be happy with vvs2F.

This is the image for the VVS 2F

Measurement - 7.55 - 7.61 x 4.74
Triple Ex
Flourescence: Faint

Should I really still bother about the colour , is there that much of difference between the E & F colour for higher quality / clarity diamonds??

That's not a ideally cut diamond if that matters to you. Proportions are a bit off all around. Color between E and F shouldn't be that noticeable. you might be able to tell in a side by side but otherwise you'd probably he hard pressed to tell which is which.

How much would you pay for this stone in $ terms? 1.7 carat, VVS2 F?

Price could be $21-23k based on diamonds with similar specs. I think F VS1 would be fabulous. VS1 is extremely clean and anything above that is just paying more for something invisible.

I'd personally want one a little less deep, because I have had a 1.63 ct diamond that had slightly better diameter than this one. You an look in the 1.6 range and possibly find one that looks as large in diameter.

I am getting this in the $19,000 range, I thought it was good value for money?

Diamondseeker2006- I agree the depth could have been lesser, ideally the depth in 61-61.5% range would be better but does that effect the sparkle or brilliance much? Thoughts?
