Hi everyone! I am new here and what a great community! I wanted to ask your expert advice on these diamonds I am looking at and choosing from. My priority is sparkliness, excellent cut, next is size. For color I can go as low as I and for clarity as low as SI2 as long as it is eye clean.

Which would you choose first, second and third?

My budget is up to $3,800 and I would appreciate any recommendations and advice.

Thanks!

Welcome! The James Allen I SI2 has a primary feather (crack) inclusion, so I would have to eliminate it, even though it might be closer to being better cut than the others. I am not familiar with the other vendor, so I cannot recommend using them.

Here are some parameters that will help you get a stone that falls in the better end of excellent cut stones. See if you can find some and then come back and post again.

table: 54-58

depth: 60-62.3

crown angle: 34-35.0

pavilion angle: 40.6-41.0

1. IGI Antwerp is a giant step up from the NY IGI labs. If you live in the US I would still recommend getting a stone with a GIA or AGSL report, though, because there are certainly plenty of options and it makes matching, trading, reselling, etc. much easier.

2, 3, 4. The black crystal inclusions are close to the table surface - I think they may well be visible to the naked eye in-person, especially on slight tilt of the stones. I would strongly recommend having these shipped out loose to see with your own eyes if you decide to pursue them, but first ask guess JA for their opinion of whether or not they're eye-clean to your specifications, whatever those are.

Thank you Yssie and Diamondseeker2006. I think I should widen my search to other vendors.

I saw some round diamonds that match the parameters advised here from some other vendors that are recommended here in Pricescope. Majority of them do not have pictures though. I was wondering if I could request a photo or video of them (I know for Brilliantly Engaged I could)? If not, do you think it is worth the risk of just basing it on what the certificate says? Especially for my budget range, I mostly get an SI1 which I don't mind as long as it is eye clean.

KINDLY DISREGARD THE LINKS. I realized I could still narrow down my search using the suggested crown angle and pavilion angle. I will post again once I narrowed it down further.

I am so glad I had found this forum. Once again requesting PS folks to help me decide. Based on my budget (3,500 - 4,100) and the parameters given above (Table, Depth, Crown Angle and Pavillion Angle and also using HCA) I've narrowed down to 3:

.93 I SI1
Cut: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Depth: 62.2 %
Table:57 %
Crown Angle: 35
Pavillion Angle: 40.0
Flourescence: None
Measurements: 6.23x6.25x3.88

.96 I VS2
Cut Grade: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Depth: 62.00%
Table: 58.00%
Crown Angle: 35
Pavillion Angle: 41
Girdle: Medium To Slightly Thick
Culet: None
Fluorescence: Faint
Measurements: 6.32x6.29x3.91 Mm

1.02 I SI1
Cut Grade: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Depth: 61.80%
Table: 57.00%
crown angle: 34
pavillion angle: 41
Girdle: Medium To Slightly Thick
Fluorescence: None
Measurement: 6.45 X 6.46 X 3.99 Mm

I am still getting the photos of this. But based on these, can you guys be able to help me pick? Or we have to wait for the photo?

Thanks,
K

Hi folks!

I did not get a reply but was able to talk with Mark of Brilliantly Engaged and he helped confirm the diamond that looks the best out of the three. I believe he is one of the experts that are trusted here in Pricescope so I just bought a diamond from him.

Thanks,
K
