can we photoshop the cushion into the pave set? (by ''we'' I mean someone way more talented than myself...ha)...
I''d like to see if the GORGEOUS stone gets lost or takes a backseat in all the glitter...

how fun to have options!!
DITTO!

Like this? lol.

I like the 7 stone...I would put a coloured stone in the pave set and wear it when you go out for a night on the town. You could also wear the coloured stone ring alone as a RHR or just the pave band. Just my 2 cents!

thanks, BLINGER...you rock!!
The photoshop and the side by side should help you out a lot, LUCKYSTAR...
you can see the differences clearly here...

totally up to you!

Personally, I think your stone loses some of its 'star power' in all the pave...and it's SOOOOOOO gorgeous...
both are beautiful, of course.. i just think you concentrate more on the overall setting than the stone in the pave set... just depends on what you like.

the picture above should help you decide....it's a nice quandary to be in, I might add

If the basket bothers you, change that so the band can sit more flush... I personally think the 7 stone looks really pretty, although I'm not a "must be flush" kinda gal!

I vote pave set (but take that with a grain of salt considering I am biased!)

I also liked blingergrrrl''s suggestion of putting a colored stone in the pave mounting and then you would have 2 "sets" you could alternate and switch around. You have a lot of options.

Hmmm, I would love to see that pave set with a Padparadscha Sapphire in it, or some aqua-coloured or hot pink stone, or a beautiful yellow assher, maybe? (enabler alert!)... I can't remember who posted this pad saph, but WOW is it drool worthy! (Darn it, I've been trying to save people's names with the pictures I download from this site, but I missed this one...!).

Anyways, I hope that what ever you decide you are happy with. And don't hesitate to post more pics!

Pave set together, because I like rings to sit flush.

I really like the pave set

It has such an elegant look.

I like the solitaire with pave band best. And a coloured stone in the pave setting.

Wow Blinger! Thank you!

I took the ring to a local jeweler just to get an idea of how how much it would even cost to get it set.
He told me that he wouldn''t recommend me setting my stone in the pave setting because the prongs were designed very poorly. He actually used the word "terrible".

He offered to put a new head on it, but I told him I''ll think about it. I left the jeweler feeling a little down and like I had made a HUGE mistake. So I put it on craigslist to see if anyone else would want to give it a go with the setting. I told myself if no one wants it I will find something to do with it in the future, but so far I''ve got two inquiries. So...I may just let someone else take a stab at it. Which brings me to my moral dilemna...do I tell a potential buyer about the prongs? I feel obligated to do so, but FI said I shouldn''t tell anyone unless they ask, since I had only gone to one jeweler and he could have just been throwing us for a loop to get more money. I looked at the prongs and they looked pretty normal to me...just as thick as the ones on my own ring. So I don''t know.

Oh well.

So, I''ll be sticking with the seven stone for now...hopefully I can find a good 11 stone in the future to get more finger coverage.

Sorry to hear about your pave ring. I voted for it because I like that look a lot!

Question about your DBL ring. I recently bought a loose stone from there and was considering a setting from DBL. What do you think of the overall quality of the setting? Although those were SI3 stones, you said you could see inclusions. What''s the cut quality of the stones? They never indicate "ideal or excellent" cuts. What''s the sparkliness factor to other brands of melee?

I like the pave setting with the matching band. It looks more flattering on your hand and I think the twinkles from the pave will go nicely with your cushion

Hi Jelly!

Good questions...the quality of the setting seems good. I mean, it''s no leon mege but it seems fine to me. This ring was pre-made in their wedding band section, I think it probably came from a mold.

As for the stones, they are very white and sparkly. However, I can''t spot any arrows or anything. I think they''re cut well, but probably not idea. I do see flashes of fire out in the sun, and they do seem to catch the light well.

Yes, I do spot inclusions in a couple of the stones. One of them just looks a *little* cloudy to the naked eye compared to the rest of them, and one of them is very obviously included black carbon spots that pretty much take up the whole diamond...I almost wonder why he included that stone in the ring, and would safely say that stone is an I2, but oh well. The other five stones are eye clean though...so I may just end up replacing the included stone one day.

I can''t really compare it to any other melee, since I haven''t seen too many other brands in person. But honestly, although these stones have great sparkle, I don''t think they compare to WF ACA''s.

Thanks for the info.

My wedding and necklace set is made up of ACAs from Whiteflash and I wish I could see the little stones side by side next to the DBL melee to see if they are worth the extra cost.

The ACA melee definitely outperforms my other rings, but they are maul quality diamonds in my other rings.

I like your original set the best with the seven stone ring and solitaire!! It''s beautiful and classic. To me the pave band and set looks a little too thick. I love pave, but I think in this case a thin single row of pave for a band or set would look better than the thicker triple row.

I''m a flush fit fan and voted for the pave set. I think the 7 stone will look great as a RHR.

ditto, absolutely agree!
