I wanted to try and get some help with finding a modern or possibly vintage inspired cushion cut and associated setting that would be platinum with a single halo and pave on the band.

The diamond specs I was aiming/hoping for are:
Carat >2ct
Cut Ideal or Excellent
Color >H
Clarity >VS2

I have a budget of <$25k for the whole thing, which might be tight given what I am looking for.

I was leaning towards getting the stetting or entire ring done at Victor Canera or Steven Kirsch, realize there may be a premium for that though. I am in NYC so assume there are plenty of other places to check out in the area as well, like maybe GoG.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

For halo work: Brialliantly Engaged, Steven Kirsch, Victor Canera.
The order above is probably the price order also.
Good luck.

OP: just reread your post, since you live in NYC definitely go see Chris at BE.

Probably looking for modern cusion or modern vintage cut, assuming price is right for quality. Honestly the overall quality / meeting specs is probably more important. My SO isn’t quite so set on anything yet, she just likes cushions.

Victor seems to only have one diamond that meets the original specs and seems a little overpriced

Any other good diamonds meeting specs for <20k would also be fine.

I appreciate the help.

There seem to be many gorgeous options that meet your criteria for a modern cushion:

Very pretty money saver: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/2.12-carat-h-color-vs1-clarity-sku-4416963 (video and ASET:https://enchanteddiamonds.com/diamo...2-Carat-H-Color-VS1-Clarity-Diamond-254132543)

Has potential and is the largest but ask for ASET: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/2.50-carat-h-color-vs1-clarity-sku-4508795

Another larger option, not an A+ ASET but solid A: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/2.50-carat-g-color-si1-clarity-sku-3100811 (https://enchanteddiamonds.com/diamo...5-Carat-G-Color-SI1-Clarity-Diamond-273017536)

A very different 8 main H&A cushion - white inclusion, I'd bet it would be eyeclean: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/2.31-carat-f-color-vs2-clarity-sku-3671609

Thank you very much I appreciate your help.

I seem to like the first diamond and the very pretty money saver you listed above.

Would Victor Canera or Steven Kirsch work with these diamonds you think?

You should confirm with them - I think VC prefers to work with his own stones but might take outside stones on a case by case or slower work flow basis. I'm not sure about SK but haven't heard of him not working with outside diamonds.

I would not hold out hope for VK. Sk has always accepted outside stone. David Klass is also a possibility (LA) and Maytal Hannah does great pave work.

Gorgeous stone. You could perhaps contact Victor and discuss what is possible within your budget. I think he still gives a small discount on the setting if you buy a stone from him. But not sure if you can stay on budget with this exact stone if you opt for a halo setting.

Thanks, so no real issues with the inclusion on the table? Seems slightly visible in the video, but obviously zoomed in a little more than in real life.

These diamonds are so beautiful! I recently had a ring made by Maytal Hannah and she used my diamond. I wish it was a cushion like these, but I had a round, and had a cushion border made for it. I've worked with her a few times and love my pieces, and her prices are reasonable.
Please post photos of the ring once it is complete, i'm sure it will look gorgeous!

I know that he is persona non grata on PS at the moment, but Leon Mege does beautiful work and he's in NYC. I have two rings of his and never had an issue with him. (See avatar)

I don't believe so, it is so small and hardly noticeable even in these super magnified images. IRL viewing is usually >12 inches away. If you have any reservations, I think it would be worth the added shipping expenses to have hime send you the stone first for inspection prior to having the setting made. Especially in this price range, what is a few hundred for shipping to be certain.

Thanks, I appreciate all the help on this.

I have halo rings from VC (pictured on the left) and SK (pictured on the right w/ my AVC). I recommend them both for delicate micropave, depending upon your total budget. You may also want to consider budgeting for additional state taxes since you are in NY.
