We are having trouble deciding on the size stones to use on our Halo setting. We have a 2.5ct cushion cut center stone (dimensions are 8.1mm x 7.43mm)... 2 or 3 points maybe ??? We want the minimum amount of metal showing on the entire setting but don't want the smaller stones to overpower the center stone. This is our third go around with our jeweler on making the setting. The first one was not even close to being correct. The second one the jeweler went off topic and put 4 or 5 pointers around the halo and 10 pointers on the band. We didn't even see that one as we were totally disgusted with the idea of 10 pointers on the band and them not being identical on the Halo and band.
Attached is a photo of our center stone.
We don't want the halo to be too wide/big
We want the minimum amount of metal showing anywhere.
It will be a shared prong setting
We don't want that flowery look when people use big stones on the halo
We don't want it to look like a cocktail ring
The big question we have is what size points should we use to achieve our desired look and still have that bling look?
