Help deciding on Emerald cut diamond!!

I have a choice of getting an Emerald cut diamond 1.40 carat H VVS1 1.37 lxw ratio(setting is slant baguettes .33 carat in platinum). My girlfriend's ring size is 4.5 and she has somewhat small hands. Is this too large a diamond, or like they say "nothing's too large!"?? Just hoping it will be OK, because I want to get her a good size/quality diamond. Could go with a 1.11 H VS2, but it's a little on the square side 1.1 lxw ratio and I'd rather have a more ideal size. Any advice?

If I'm not mistaken, 4.5 ring size corresponds to about 15 mm diameter finger.

I guess your diamond should be about 5.7 mm wide. It doesn't sound too big.
