Hello,

I need some help deciding between some diamonds I''ve found at Goodoldgold. I am looking at two stones that are very similar in price ~$6500 (G VS1 #1648) vs. $6588 (H VS2 #2956) and a third stone that is $7437 (G VS2 #2814).

Here are the links: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/1648, http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/2956/, and http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/2814/.

Here''s a summary of my current conclusions:
G VS1: lower light performance (don''t know how much this really matters
H VS2: higher color, so probably not what I want
G VS2: It''s $900 more for some specifications that I really like.

Thanks!

They are all great but personally I would get #1 or #2 . . . I would probably get #2 because I like H VS2 diamonds. The price difference for the third is not worth it in my opinion.

It sounds that you will get some psychic benefit from getting a G color-- unless you are completely comfortable with an H, I wouldn''t do it (although I agree with hikerchick that H/VS2 is a great spot for ideal rounds, so I would probably go with #2)...

What is the reason to go with H VS2? Is it the better cut of the stone?

Thanks for the replies!

I think it is the best value . . . I personally don''t think that #3 is worth the extra money because the other 2 should be just as beautiful . . . and since #2 scores better in the light analysis but doesn''t cost much more than #1 and since I cannot see a discernable difference between a G and an H in rounds, that makes #2 the best value in my mind. But anything you decide, you cannot go wrong with any of those I think.
