This is the first site I had bumped into when initially looking for an engagement ring and I found it very helpful so I decided to create an account and get some advice for my final decisions. I'm looking spend around $5,500 (can go up to $6,000 if needed) and want most of the money to go towards the diamond itself. In fact this is the setting I'm leaning towards purchasing.

I want to get right at 1 carat but I'm just slightly confused on which diamond offers the best value. Is an ags 0 cut the way to go? I've tried to go to a few local shops but each one had nearly nothing close to the diamond I wanted and were extremely pushy, this has led me to mostly looking at jamesallen.com. Here are a few of the diamonds that I'm looking at currently. Any advice on which would be a better pick, or if you have another princess cut that you find better looking please let me know. I'm just trying to make sure that I get the best diamond at my budget for my significant other.

Any suggestions? Are there any that stand out or are they good value? I'm open to any other suggestions for a princess cut around that price range. Are the asets for the wf aca decent? Should I be asking certain questions about the diamonds to help narrow my selection? Thanks for the time!

Sorry no one has answered you, its summer time summertime .......
G-H are wise colors to choose from a not seeing any yellow +the best value.
Unless you are planning to sell a stone, consider a stone with fluorescence as both those vendors will likely screen out any negatives, and both will eyeball the stones for you.
I do not think JA always have ASET images - but if you get them and post here you will get more guidance on cut - WF do them as a matter of course.
AGS are the only lab that grade the cut quality of princess - its a good safe bet, but there can still be differences.
Personally I am not a fan of thin girdles on princess cuts. Especially near the points because princess are rather prone to breakage and tears.
VS2 and some SI1's at 1ct size are better vlaue than VVS and generally eye clean from the top, but sometimes you can see the inclusions from under / side views.
I am trade so can not advise on individual stones

Lots of great info! I agree that you might get more input from PSers if you post ASET images, etc.

The advice is for YOU to post the images.
