HELP! Cloudy ACA???

Forgive me, it''s my first post... then again, it''s my first time buying a ring!!

I am in the process of purchasing a .69 H SI1 ACA diamond from WF. All of the measurements and symmetry look great, but it seems to me that the picture looks considerably cloudy when compared to similar diamonds. My salesperson assured me that it was just the lighting or something of that nature and that he had seen the diamond firsthand, but the Idealscope image looks cloudy and dark to me as well.

Can someone possibly take a look at this and tell me whether or not I''m worrying needlessly? Here''s a link to the diamond in question:

I can't say that I see what you are speaking about. It would be difficult for me to say whether the stone is in fact cloudy or not simply based on the on-line pictures. But maybe the best test is to see it in person. You will be able to tell much better if the stone is right for you after seeing it after they ship it to you.

I had a feeling that only so much could be seen from a digital picture. I was just comparing that picture in particular to pics of other ACAs on the site.

Is it common for an Idealscope picture to look so dark? (Once again, this is in comparison to other idealscope pics on the same site).

it looks like a winner to me an AGS 000 and a WF ACA, it doesn''t get any better. you can always return it if you''re unhappy for some reason but I think it''s going to be gorgeous.

No possibility that an ACA would be cloudy! Yes, you are worrying for nothing! I saw that stone before, and it would be on my ear right now if it had had a twin! Lol! Great buy and at a terrific price for the diameter!!!

The Idealscope is a typical ''New Line'' look, i.e. edge to edge light return, so don''t worry about that. I love these diamonds and that IS is to-die-for! Have a look on WF site under eduaction and they''ll tell ou more about the New LIne cut. I also can''t say that I think the pic is cloudy. There are differences based on the lighting, so get another photo if you''re worried. I thnk it looks like a great choice!

Actually, I have seen an AGS triple zero that was an Si1 that I thought was a tiny bit cloudy and it bugged me so I returned it. NOt from whiteflash though. So I stick with VS now.

I'm sure the diamond is not cloudy enough to cause what you describe.
(It may in fact have minor clouds since it is an SI1)

The exposure of the photography is not always exactly the same, so some IS pics look darker than others.
It is not from clouds.
It is the photography.

And I'm also sure their digital camera is good enough to not be a factor here too.

I've bought from WF a few times and also returned stones to them.
They are very reputable.

Now one pic I may be a little concerned about is the AGS report.
The plots look *very* clean for an SI1.
I'd call them and tell them how many inclusions you can count on your screen and have a person count them on the original and tell you, such as "there is a line at 3:00 on the right plot". Etc.
Some of the marks on the reports are very fine and if the exposusre is not perfect may not show up on the picture.

Ask them if it is eye-clean to the naked eye.

you can''t really tell from a highly magnified vanity shot like that how the diamond will look in real life. to me those photos just show ''hey look this diamond has arrows and it''s eye clean''. i doubt that Brian would let one of his darling ACAs be sold if it was really ''cloudy''. but hey that is what the 10 day return policy is for!

Aldanko you are seeing the typical reduced contrast of that variety of well cut diamond - it is not cluody - but there are other benefits from this type of stone. if you re a novice you could be assured that this will be a stunning eye turner. If in doubt work with a good appraiser.

Asscherisme can you remember if that stone had very few indentifiyable SI inclusions? Was a cloud noted as the main cause of the SI1 clarity?

Concerning the AGS Report - I already spoke to my salesperson about that and he assured me that it was extremely eye-clean. I''ll throw up a pic or two when I get it! Be blessed,

I like it! i like the chunky lgf and pav angle - I bet it''s gorgeous! The only things that make a diamond cloudy to my knowledge would be inclusions or flUOrescence and it doesn''t have flUOr and the inclusions would look like, well like inclusions, so I think your fears can be laid to rest.
