Adding the idealscope image for my diamond. I've never interpreted one of these, but to me it looks like there is very little leakage? Could someone chime in?

IS is fine. Those brighter white areas are likely due to ranging pavilion angles (i.e., those particular facets have lower pavilion angles). This seems to be very common in the virtual inventory right now. I don't love this as it shows that the diamond lacks precision in cutting, but at least one of the big suppliers seems to be cutting diamonds this way to get a better GIA rounded pavilion average while saving a bit of weight.

Thanks for chiming in! That does sound like an overly positive review? In your opinion, is the diamond a keeper?

It has good angles and a good IS. To me, it would come down to your comfort with the color. To me, I tend to like higher or lower colors. But, that is me. Have you looked at the new diamond in normal lighting outdoors, florescence and work-type lighting. Lime green sounds like a pretty harsh light to any diamond.

I have not gotten a good look at it outside yet, I will do that soon. As for flourescence and work-type lighting I have not seen it in this type of lighting and will have difficulty doing so unless I find a temporary setting.

My comfort zone is definitely the near colourless range. I in particular. I actually do not like the look of DEF stones as I find them blueish. I also don't love the yellowish tinge of of my EGL "J", which leads me to believe faint brown might actually be the answer for me. I don't want to give on ct weight and definitely not spread. The IF clarity was more of a cool gimmick to me than necessary. I definitely want eyeclean but do not need mindclean. I also really like the skinny arrows of this diamond. I' m not a huge fan of the bolder arrows of an H&A diamond, which is why this stone spoke to me so much.

I'm with you on the color of the tint. I prefer a brown to yellow tint. So, it sounds like this one might just suit. I would just try to look at it in the 'normal' lighting you will spend most of your time in.

Oops I meant to comment and then got sidetracked... Are you seeing the color mostly from the side? The setting that you are having reproduced will hide much of the side so your K will appear whiter. IMO it looks gorgeous! I really like the pictures with the light coming in from a window, makes your diamond really fiery. You also mentioned that you prefer skinny arrows so this diamond is a good fit.

At the end of the day, it's up to you and what you can tolerate. It seems like you are questioning it and not that happy?

It is not that I am not happy with it, its that I'm not used to the brown tint. I can see colour from the top in really yellow lighting and obviously with LED light. I wish I hadn't seen it at night in this house lol, that was not a great first impression. Seeing it in natural lighting its stunning. I went outside and it is stark white.

I think I need to order an inexpensive setting and wear it around. Some of the threads I have read on Ks state that you gradually stop seeing the colour. I also think I need to change my bulbs to white light immediately lol.

My intention with this stone was to have the classic colourless diamond and tiffany-esque soltaire. I want to be sure that the colour cannot be seen by others and by myself too often. Ultimately, I need to recognize for the size I want, I need to give in other areas and as said before, I believe brown is more preferable than yellow in the lower colour range. When I was taking comparison photos with my lower colour OEC the yellow showed more often in natural lighting circumstances vs the brown/champagne showing in poor, yellow lighting.

I think putting it in a temp setting will help you!

If you find one of those temp settings that you can do yourself, please let me know! I've been trying to search for one but can't find anything.

Around the 4 minute mark:

Update! I have decided to keep it and have sent it off to David Klass to set it in the solitaire I posted earlier in the thread. Hopefully I will have it in a couple weeks and will of course post photos! In the meantime, here are some more photos of the diamond :)
