Can't decide about these 2. Opinions welcome. The Montana sapphire is 2.19 ct, 7.4 x 5 mm. Yeah, it's a little grayish; they all are & I love them. Looks like pic taken indoors. Don't know what lighting. Good buy on the tourmaline -- 2.55 ct, 8 x 6 mm -- it's hard to tell from photos, but it doesn't look like it has that special tourmaline glow, what do you think?

Maybe I shouldn't get either one! Mr. JF will blow a gasket anyway re $$$. So I'll lie! Happy wife, happy life!

I like the tourmaline's color better, but, I wonder how firey the sapphire is. Can you get both and send one back? :Up_to_something:

I'm not wowed by the cut on the tourmaline and the green looks a bit greyish. I like the sapphire but I'd worry that it would be too dark (but then I tend to like the lighter colored sapphires so YMMV.)

Neither appeal to me. Best to save your money, keep looking and keep Mr. JF's gasket intact. :naughty: The tourmaline is nothing outstanding (too green) while the sapphire is dark and drab.

Kismet, agree about the cut on the tourmaline, it is odd. I like the color, myself, though. Tempted to take a look at the sapphire to how it looks IRL. Montana sapphires kind of have their own look, different from other-sourced ones & I'm attracted to them because of that. Thanks for the input, will cogitate a bit.

Both stones are untreated. forgot to mention that.

Montana sapphires typically aren't treated and as for tourmalines, treatment is very difficult to detect.

Chrono -- Montana sapphires aren't? I think I recall running into heated ones in my online travels but could remember wrong, wouldn't be the first time & won't be the last. Fill me in on why would they not be? Also, I should've said Vendor says they weren't treated. Wouldn't buy one without its being certed.
