Hello!
not sure if this should be in Rocky Talky or not.
My fiance and I are cleaning out his parents house as his parents recently passed away. In her jewelry box we found this ring, and he then gave it to me.
I took it to a jeweler on saturday and after testing it multiple times, he confirmed it is a real diamond. He hasn't ever seen this cut before(from looking around here for the past few years I knew right away it isn't a RB), but it is possible the ring belonged to my fiance's grandmother.
It is set in 14K gold, but I'm not a fan of the setting. The jeweler said it is most likely in the 1-2 ct range, but hard to tell given that it is a different cut.
My ring size is a 4, for reference. There are no visible inclusions and it is whiter than my J ER. I am in love with this ring and feel so blessed.
So my questions are:
- What cut/color do you all think it is(I know these are guesses). Keep in mind my photography skills are awful!
- What should I do for the setting? I was thinking of yellow gold since my er is white gold. Money is very limited for a re-set since I am purchasing my wedding band this spring and we are getting married in August.
- I don't want to make it a right hand ring, just a second ER since I am so in love. My DF doesn't want to sell my ER because of the sentimental value(and I love it as well!)
Can anyone help with the photo taking? I had it on macro outside, but it is still blurry!!
So, without further adieu....
