Hearts and Arrows but HCA3.4?

Thank you for the suggestion! That does look like a great stone but I think I'd like to stick with a G color.

Oh my goodness!

Did they tell you the idealscope looked great? I'm referring to your first posting in this thread. Because if they did, then they do not know how to interpret one.

There is leakage under the table shown in both the ASET and IS.

The girdle is dug out and is leaking light.

The hearts are not even close to being symmetrical and the arrows are not either.

I would avoid b/c I think you can do much better. Not knowing how much the stone is though maybe it's a steal.

What's your budget?

IMHO it isn't simply about great scope images, and some stones that look poorer on the 'measurements' may be more beautiful to the individual. Leakage under the table via a scope isn't necessarily perceptible in real life i.e. a ring on a finger. Like a hand-made Moroccan rug the 'flaws' can often bring more character and beauty compared to a precise, maybe even clinical, machine fabricated rug.

Having said this it is worth going for excellent cut, polish & symmetry from GIA and AGS to ensure quality, but I don't personally think there is an 'ideal' cut, more of a range. Thus the only way to find out is to directly compare the stones you are considering in person!

If you're wanting G, then you could sacrifice a tiny bit of size & go for an F. D-F stones do have that colourless look but anything after doesn't (upon long-term scrutiny rather than looking at it in a shop ;) ).

You're right, it was to another person!

I agree that looking at the stones in person is probably the best thing to do.

This GOG stone looks amazing, just a little out of my price range I think. One the of prior WF stones is still available I think, I'm going to look into that too.

Thank you for all your input!
