Hey.......I''m in Maryland with my folks. My flight was uneventful, as one would hope for. It was on time too. My nephew picked me up and drove me to my folks. It was great being with him. He''s 17 and has become somewhat successful modeling. For those of you who see UnderArmor clothes at the gym, he''ll be doing a photo shoot for them soon. I told him he needs to become really rich and famous so he can take care of his "old" uncles......LOL

It''s pretty warm here. Not Florida warm, but hot sticky, muggy, no breeze Maryland in the summer warm. I had forgotten how sticky it can get up here. I spoke with Charlie a while ago and he said we had big thunderstorms in Tampa and it''s now nice and cool. He may go sit under the oak and have coffee later.

We had crabs for dinner. They were so so so good. I do so love Maryland steamed crabs. It was a nice treat. We''re going to have some tomorrow and Sunday too.

No fitness planned for the weekend and my folks are all about eating, so I''m hoping I don''t gain any weight. If I do, I''ll work it off when I''m back in Tampa.

My father''s internet connection is horrendously slow, so I won''t be here too often. Just wanted to pop in say hey and wish you all a nice weekend.

I had the BEST hamburger for lunch today. Seriously. My boss took me to lunch at this little hole in the wall German place and it was GOOD. Not the healthiest, but I didn't have any fries or anything, just the hamburger and iced tea. I want to go back sometime again when I can try some of their German beers as well--they had a ton of different ones on tap. (I know, I know--bad Liz!)

Tonight we're off to see a band we like at a local club, but I'm going to be good and eat before we go and only have one or two drinks while I'm there. Gotta keep up on the healthy habits and not use moving as an excuse to pig out!

Hi Coati and Lorelei!

Hi everyone.
35.gif
I was back to my pre BBD weight plus 2 more ounces this morning. Woo hoo! Of course now I have to make it through the weekend. Tomorrow I am teaching all day and will plan on setting up telescopes for my class tomorrow evening. The forecast is for clear skies so that should work great for some nice telescope viewing.
I met some friends for drinks and supper tonight. It was fun. Sunday we are taking my parents and in-laws out for dinner. I will try to eat things in moderation.
I went to a jewelry remount show at the mall tonight. They had some nice things but way more than I would pay for them. It’s fun to look though.
Lady Pirate, I am sure you are anxious to move. I am looking forward to renewing my license next year – I am looking forward to actually admitting how much I weigh.
Lorelei, glad to hear you are drinking so much water. I luckily like water so I don’t have trouble drinking a lot of water every day.
Somethingshiny, I am glad JT is doing better. It sounds like your baking is coming along. Have fun at the wildlife park.
Welcome Coatimundi. Happy Birthday to you as well! I really enjoy my treadmill too. I’ll have to tell Marty about your laptop shelf for the treadmill. I won’t ever be far from PS.
1.gif

Rod, glad you made it safely to your parents house. How cool your nephew will be doing some ads soon as a model. I hope he does become rich and famous.
We are watching Young Frankenstein – on of my favorite movies. They are at the Putting on the Ritz part.
9.gif
I love it.
Have a great weekend.

Gosh, trying to read this entire thread all at once has proved difficult for me...so much to catch up on!

I''ve been doing more walking recently and finally lost a pound this week, so that is positive. Also DH and I pulled out our bicycles two days ago and just need to air up the tires so we can start riding again. One of my girl friends rode her bike over to our house today, she is trying to get back into a healthier lifestyle as well. We have plans to go riding together on Monday. Tomorrow we''re going swimming at our neighbor''s house, they just put in a really nice above-ground pool that we haven''t been in yet. Not many people in the burbs do inground pools due to the climate, so they opted for above-ground but it is still quite nice. So, Monnie is getting more active and hoping to drop those extra lbs. soon!

Marcy, I totally remember Young Frankenstein, it is a really cute movie. Enjoy!

Hey Lorelei and gang! I want to join the healthy thread!

Wanted to share that I got a treadmill! I'm so exited--I love this thing. I set it up, so I can go on PS while I walk!

(me dork) My husband built me a crazy laptop shelf that extends to right in front of the machine. The time flies! I just walk on the highest incline--can't run, because I have messed up ballet knees.

Eek! I''m behind again.

Just a quick check in to say hi.
35.gif

dragonfly, woo hoo on two miles!! Way to go!

SS, glad to hear that JT is feeling better. Curious to see what the specialist has to say. We spent the morning in the ER with our three year-old. Thought he had meningitis, but looks like torticollis(??), which is basically muscle spasms. SIGH. He''s doing much better, thank goodness!

Rod, hope you''re having a fab time with the fam.

Lady Pirate, your lunch sounds delish! Am I remembering that you''re in Portland? If so, can you tell me the name of the restaurant? I''m heading up there this weekend to see my dad, and it''s always fun to try something new.

Marcy, congrats on being back to your pre-BBD weight!! Happy star-gazing!

Monarch, great job on being down a pound!

Lorelei, hope the weather improves.

Continuing to train for the 10K. Am now up to 5.5 miles, so I''m feeling more confident!

Hope everyone is doing great.

Lorelei, since we often seem to have the same weather I am going to guess (and hope) you are having non-pants weather.

Kathy, the skies are clear as a bell so I hope this holds up till dark. I am very excited to only be 3 pounds away from my BIG goal. Yay for being up to 5.5K. That is awesome.

This rural college has quicker computers than my slow laptop.

Thanks, Skippy. How is your mom doing? Give her some PS hugs for me.

Bebe, I had to walk on the treddie for 10 minutes the other night without TV on or my IPOD. It was a LONG 10 minutes. It does get boring pretty fast.

We''re not in Portland yet, we''re moving up at the end of the month. If you''re there, though, our favorite restaurant in the city is Andina in the Pearl District. REALLY good.

All my baking is finished, except for the last batch of caramel corn that''s in the oven. I burnt the heck out of my hand this morning with the boiling-hot-lava-molten caramel. It stuck to my hand and was still liquid so I had to stick it under water until it dried enough to peel off! OWIE! I have a pretty bad burn (or 3), but at least it''s mostly numb due to the extent of the burn. There''s always a bright side, right?

We walked/hiked around the Prairie Park today. Met a guy who got mauled by a bear last month. He was really kind and doesn''t have any animosity. JT got to see all sorts of wildlife like wolves, bison, mountain lions that are in the area but rarely seen. Next time we''re going to bring a wagon for JT so we can go longer. I forgot how much of a workout hiking is, but I''d love to do some more! Also, they have a 58 foot slide. And, when you slide down 6 stories, you have to climb back up 6 stories!

Kathy~ Glad everything turned out "alright" with your little one! How scary to even THINK it may be menengitis!

Have a great tomorrow!!

Marcy, forgive my ignorance, but what does BBD stand for? The only thing coming to mind is Bel Biv DeVoe, but I don''t think that''s what you''re talking about. Congratulations, in any case!

Somethingshiny, OUCH! So sorry to hear about burning your hand. I hope it heals quickly and isn''t too painful.

Lady Pirate, BBD was something Rod came up - before birthday dinners. My B-Day was May 30th and we went out to dinner 3 times and breakfast one time for my birthday (assorted people taking us out) then we also took my parents out for dinner to celebrate their anniversary. That resulted in a 2 pound weight gain for me but now I''ve lost it and more.

We just got home from my class. Marty pulled our 5th wheeler out to school and set up his 20" telescope for my students to look through. Even though the moon was very obvious and bright we were still able to show them about 10 things in the scope including the ever popular Saturn. I think they enjoyed the marathon day just to stay that late. Now we don''t have to meet tomorrow. As of tonight we have finished 2 months of my evening classes or 1/2 of the semester. I feel like I worked an entire month today too since I''ve been up since 5 am (of 19 hours ago). Aak!

Anyways I am going to get ready for bed. Don''t hold this against me but I am NOT going to clean my jewelry tonight. It can wait until the morning.

Hi everyone,
35.gif

Thought I would pop in to say hello to everyone. Nothing new on this end. My grandboys have been sick all week with some bug. They are better today. We leave for vacation next Friday, so I am glad they are doing better. Sure didn''t want them to be sick then.

Marcy: YAY for losing another pound, you are going to blow away one of these days, tee hee.

I''ll check back later, as I am going to make breakfast.

Hi Marcy,

Their food wish list is complete. Geesh!!! Among the things they want are for me to make:

My meatloaf, my spaghetti, my fried chicken (all this while we are camping mind you. LOL) my pudding (chocolate) then a list of their snacks, etc. etc. They crack me up. They know they have me wrapped around their fingers and usually get what they want, ha ha ha ha.

I am going to make the spg. sauce and meatloaf here at home, then just warm it up in the 5th wheel. I can make the mashed potatoes and veggies in there too. My girlfriend, her hubby and her two grandkids may come for part of the week. They get along so well with my two. They are the same age. Here is what we joined. I hope this is OK to post. www.thousandtrails.com We are going to the Morgan Hill one. They have so many activities for the kids there.

How was your day today?

Linda

Linda, LOL at all the cooking those cute grandsons want you to do in your 5th wheeler. I saw there picture on the hangout thread and they are adorable. Good idea to have things to warm up on your trip. I was thinking I should do that as well. I had a great day thanks and hope you did the same. Dinner with the folks went well, I brought home over 1/2 of my lunch so Marty and I will split it tomorrow for supper. We went around and looked at laptops after dinner. I am contemplating buying a new laptop.

Hi skippy
35.gif

I was going to post to you on the other thread, but I will do it here. I am so glad your mom is doing even better today. I''m also glad you had a wonderful day with your dad.

Your new avatar picture cracked me up.

Marcy: Glad you had a good dinner with your parents. You know that is what I do when we go camping. I make things at home, then warm them up in the microwave in the 5th wheel. Everything I make freezes well. Usually Rick bbq''s, but on a weeks trip with the boys, there are so many things we can bbq, that they like, ha ha ha ha.

When it is just Rick and I that is when I cook a lot at home and bring it camping. When my girlfriend and her hubby come, without the kids, she and I each bring dishes to share. Last year we did a turkey and roast beef. That tasted great out doors.

Hey.....just a quick checkin. It''s late on Sunday night and I''m actually wathcing TV with my soon to be rich and famous nephew the model. I''ll be back home tomorrow. Rod is totally ''crabbed'' out. We had crabs on Friday, Saturday, and again today. I''ve had my crab fix for some time to come. It''s been really great being with my family. I need to see them more often for sure.

Other than taking walks, I didn''t do anything but eat. We''re a familiy of eaters, hence why I was always a very big boy. I hope the scale doesn''t reveal too much damage from the foodgastic weekend I''ve had.

Charlie has an interview tomorrow, which is a good thing. And it''s for a pretty decent opportunity, so fingers crossed things go well.

Sorry I can''t say hey to anyone personally. I''ve to get to bed and get some sleep. I''ll write more from home tomorrow night.

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Linda, when we go camping for star parties there is another couple we camp by so she and I fix meals together then we all eat outside together. It makes it nice. Roast sounds like a great thing to fix ahead of time. We often do tacos (cook the meat before we go), spaghetti and a lot of frozen meals. Our new 5th wheeler has the generator so now I can use our microwave. Yippee for that. I plan on fixing some things to take to our star party next month. With teaching on weekends this month I doubt I’ll cook much to take with us this time.
Skippy, I agree with Linda. Your new avatar is quite funny.
Rod, glad you enjoyed your visit with the family. Good luck to Charlie on his interview tomorrow.

Skippy we must have posted at the same time earlier and I missed your post. I hope your mom is doing well and that was nice to take your dad out for breakfast today. Woo hoo for a nice bike ride. This goal I am closing in on was my wildest dream goal to reach when I started. I am actually quite happy with how I look and feel but I plan on going for another 10 pounds after I reach this goal then probably 5 more after that. My sister is doing pretty well thanks for thinking about her. She has headaches and still can’t taste or smell. She had some floaters appear in her eyes but the doctor said she could have developed those anyway so there is no way to know if hitting her head caused that. She has not had another MIR though because of how costly they are. They told her to watch for a runny nose which would indicate her brain was leaking but since she has allergies / hay fever she has a runny nose all the time. I know you can identify with that.
