Hi,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Have you seen this setting for sale? I saw it in the eye candy thread.

I would like to get it for my girlfriend. I like the look, how smooth it is without hard angles and how the metal seems to pool around the side diamonds. I also like the narrow band and the cathedral up to the center stone.

The image is attached.

Please let me see other pics of the setting if you have them or where I can buy the setting. Thanks.

Is this not a Mark Morrell masterpiece? His website is mwmjewelry.com

I think it''s a Precision Set.

Do you know who it belongs to? They might have another thread with more pictures and more information.

ETA: And welcome to Pricescope!

I would try bluenile.com and knoxjewelers.biz. I am gooing to go look at the latter because it is my absolute favorite site. And the owner is just fantastic to work with! I could not say enough good things about Brian there!

I think that''s a Mark Morrell. it does look close to Leila''s Precisionset though.

www.precisionset.com, Jonathan at www.goodoldgold.com carries the line.

Here''s leila''s precisionset version..

Mark Morrel, he does awesome work. Very backed up at the moment, but if you can wait he''s worth it. Good luck!!!

Gorgeous rings, and what a cool new site - glad I was able to look thru Knox''s sparklies...

That mark morrell is just luscious...the platinum looks like mercury!

Good luck in your search - its a gorgeous setting!

It definitely screamed Mark Morrell as soon as I saw the picture - beautiful, beautiful setting.

That's mine!

I've sold the center stone, so I can't take any new pics, but let me see if I can find some on my old computer.

Oh, and it IS Mark's work.

Actually, I still have the setting. I sold the stone, but could not bear to part with the setting, especially after Mark told me how much it would cost to have it made now. I do sometimes regret not having the whole ring anymore, but I felt guilty keeping this one after I got an upgrade. At least I didn't lose too much on the stone, but I would have lost much more on the setting.

Wow, Boom, that''s a beautiful ring that you have there. I hope you don''t mind if I get one made for my GF that is similar.

What was your experience like, working with Mark Morrell?

From his website, it looks like it takes two months plus to have a job completed. Since he won''t take orders until after this month, that may not work for my plan of getting enaged in mid-July, our one year anniversary.

Can anyone recommend someone that can do similar quality work?

I already contacted whiteflash and I''m waiting for a quote.

To everyone that replied, Thanks for helping me.

Also, any idea how much a custom job like that would cost?

One more thing.

Boom, would you mind telling me the stone qualities and the ring size, so I can get an idea of the proportions.

I''m hoping that I have enough for a 1.5 carat diamond and my GF''s ring size is 4.5.

Working with Mark was a pleasure. I worked long distance with him mostly by email and he was always very prompt in his replies. My ring was made a few years ago when he wasn''t quite so popular yet, so it only took a few weeks to complete.

I''m not sure about the side stones, but Mark did a good job matching them to my 0.96ct G VS1 Eightstar. The ring size is 6.25. A 1.5ct on your GF''s size 4.5 finger is going to look huge!

As for the cost, I believe it does cost upwards of $2000 now especially with the increase in platinum price. It is worth every penny though as my ring is the most comfortable ring I have ever worn.

I hope you get a chance to work with Mark, he is a true genius!

Thanks for replying, Boom. Did you have to buy a stone first and then send it to him?

Do you think a 1.5 will be too huge?

I wrote Mark and he was very nice. But he expressed doubts about being able to accomodate me.

I''m not boom, but yes, you buy a stone and send it too him. No, a 1.5 will not be too huge

, and yes, Mark is very busy and backed up. If you don''t mind the wait, most would say he''s worth it. There are other wonderful designers and settings out there though to chose from

I am thinking that MM is the one that will not take a diamond sent directly from the customer. I think he requires it to be sent directly from the diamond vendor.

oh that''s right. I''m pretty sure he doesn''t source main stones, so you would have to find that one on your own and have the vendor or indendant appraiser send it to Mark.
