Hello Experts :)

I am planning to propose to my girlfriend in a couple of weeks. I have the setting that she likes and now I am trying to choose a stone. My jeweler is sending me the specs on two stones that I am going to post when I get them, but I wanted to ask your opinion on these 4 stones from James Allen so that I can have a comparison to help me narrow down my options.

The setting is a halo setting, the jeweler is telling me that I can get a better color if I sacrifice on the size a little bit but I am not sure if it''s worth going under a carat, is the difference between a F and a G/H color oging to be obvious, or I guess as obvious as the difference between a 0.9 and a 1ct?

Appreciate your input.

Thanks

Hi and welcome!

The info I need isn't loaded yet with the grading reports, I think you posted the same one twice? Also I think the depth and tables might not be accurate in the JA diamond listings, but post the details when you get them.

We will need the -

depth%
table%
crown and pavilion angles
polish and symmetry grades
girdle thickness
diameter in MM
fluorescence if applicable
star and LGF%

Also to me the difference between reliably graded F or G colour isn't obvious, particularly when the diamonds are mounted, if the cut is great you can definitely consider G or H and have a very white looking diamond, and try to aim for the size you want.

don''t sacrifice on cut...that will dictate the stones beauty. As for color...it all depends on how color sensitive you are. I really couldn''t see a difference btwn an F color and a G color. My stone is an H (with strong blue fluor) and to me it''s very white. I sacriificed color because I wanted most of my budget to go to cut and sz
