Has anyone ever felt remorse over an already sold piece of jewelry?

On Pricescope there are countless pieces that don’t and can’t belong to me so I just love them from afar. I’m sure I own some pieces that others might covet, such is life when there are many admirers and only one possible owner.
Let the pieces you don’t or can’t own guide your taste and searching and put aside the pennies, sell other things, whatever so that one day a most beautiful piece will be owned and loved by you.

Haha always but another (usually better suited for me) piece comes along. I have big eyes. That is my problem. 8)

Omg all the time!! Usually takes me a couple of weeks to get over it. I actually had this happen about a week ago. I wanted a Tiffany 18k mini open heart, for my upcoming birthday. I found one at a great price on ebay, and put in an offer. But someone else went $10 over me. I was super bummed everytime I thought about it. But then, this past Sunday night, I got a message from the seller that the buyer backed out. It should arrive in 2 days! Its a birthday miracle!!!!:appl:

Happy Birthday!! Congratulations on your heart! it was meant to be

typically, i do not feel remorse over a sold piece of jewelry. it just wasn't meant to be

if i had loved it enough, i would have purchased it

Well it’s not exactly the same because I had the opportunity to buy it and I didn’t take it, but this one time I was in at the jeweler’s - just browsing - and he had this gorgeous emerald ring. The emerald was massive (around 10cts if I remember correctly) and a really low price for what it was (it was cut a bit deeper than ideal, and was included and not super glowy green, but a very pretty dark green and the setting was a stunning halo). He was able to sell it at a low price because it was as a favor to another client who needed the money. It was more than I could stomach as a total impulse buy, though I could’ve bought it if I really wanted to. I figured I’d think about it, and when I made up my mind that no, I was going to get it, I found out it sold... and another similar ring was going to cost me a lot more. So I just shrugged, added it to my list, and told myself another one will be around soon enough, and what was really attracting me was the size and presence of the stone, but I would probably want something a bit more unique, anyway.

As much as it makes me sad/wistful for the one that got away, it also makes me happy that out there, somewhere, is a person that loves that piece as much or more than me. And that's a lovely thing!

All the time, but I get over it eventually. There are a few though, I’ll never get over. But then, they are mostly over budget anyways and I‘m glad someone else snatched them up before I couldn‘t resist. Makes me feel like I saved money, he he.

Thats how i try to get over it too, i tell myself "oh well, i couldn't really afford it" or "i really should save for that anyway". Being the fox and the sour grapes always helps!
