Has anyone bought a diamond or piece of jewelry from Jewels By Erica Grace? Their prices for estate pieces and loose diamonds seem too good to be true.

yes, many have, if you look at the "show me the bling" forum you will see many pieces from them, they are a reputable company and the owners do post here frequently. I would not hesistate to purchase from them should I have a need for vintage or estate pieces.
 
Are prices for estate/vintage diamonds supposed to be closer to that of new diamonds or closer to that of "used" ones?
 
I have. I bought a loose vintage diamond to use in a pair of studs, and the transaction was smooth and Grace was a joy to work with.

Depends on the dealer. There is thriving market for antique/vintage diamonds, and those who know what they're selling will generally stay close to published prices-based on color, clarity, and shape. In some secondary markets you will find lower prices, but again, that depends on the dealer. People have been known to score great deals on ebay, pawnshops, or with dealers (who normally carry modern goods) trying to unload antique stones. Ebay has seen the PS effect, though, and stones are going for more than they used to.
 
I have bought from them and I have consigned a piece through them. Both Erika and Grace are wonderful to work with.

This is a great thread. I'm thinking about consigning with them, so I'm glad to hear so many good things! :))
 
I consigned a 2.73 carat K Si1 antique cushion with them and they were a dream to work with. I never once had any doubts and I felt very comfortable with leaving my little gem with Grace.
 
I haven't purchased from them but I did enquire about an antique setting they had for sale awhile ago. Erica called me w/in minutes and was super, super sweet and easy to talk to... very good with people! I've heard many, many good things about them here, and wouldn't hesitate to buy from them. And yes they both do post on PS.

Their prices reflect the lack of overhead that is possible with a web-only business. No expensive storefront or slew of employees. That being said I find their prices to be (on average) not, like, unbelievably cheap, but more like quite reasonable for what you get in terms of upgrade policy and customer service. And of course the prices vary a bit from piece to piece.

Yes my diamond came from JBEG as well, it is a 2.14 L/VS1 Antique Cushion, if you check out there photo site under the loose diamonds heading you can see lots of pictures of it before it was set!

They made my ering and I just loved working with Erica. Like really loved working with her to the point i felt sad when it was all over because I had no reason to email her nearly every day. :wacko:

I didn't get my stones from them but my mom is looking for antique omc's and I'm pretty sure she will use them because of how much I liked working with them.
