Happy New Cat Thread!!!

We'll start a new happy thread! I wasn't able to get the stray kitty, but I DID decide that it was time for a new companion. I went to the vet this morning to pick up the ashes of my Tiggy who passed almost three weeks ago, and it just felt right. The vet is right next to the shelter so I went and met my new best friend!

Rocky is a 4 year old agouti tabby, 14 pounds (nice big boy - not fat, just big ). We got home from the shelter about an hour ago and I think from the photo you can see that he's feeling pretty comfy! I am his third home in 4 years so he's had a rough go. At 2 he was removed from a home because they were not taking proper care of him (not sure of details), but he was adopted. Then 2 years later (a few months ago) his owners got divorced and neither of the jerks wanted him so they gave him back to the shelter. But their loss is my gain because I already love the crap out of him!!! He comes as soon as I whistle and hops up on the bed and couch if I point to it. I'm so lucky. What a good boy already!

Oh so cute! Sounds like he has just been waiting through a string of people who didn't really want him so very glad you have him now - I'm sure he'll finally be happy and loved!

What a beautiful baby! Your happiness jumps out from your post and you can count me as one of the many who are thrilled for you. Isn't it amazing how quickly these little fur babies steal our hearts? I'm so glad he found you because it sounds like the little guy had a very rough start. It's great to know he is finally going to have the wonderful life he deserves! Congratulations on your new baby! No but I did notice he stretches his "thumbs" out like that.

EDIT: Maybe I stand corrected? He doesn't have 6 toes but apparently there is a thing called "mitten foot" that's an expression of polydactyly?
