Do most people choose a halo setting to enhance a diamond or to make it appear larger?? :read:

Re: Halos - do most people get them to enhance a diamond or

I could make an argument for both.

I've seen ladies here that have large stones with smaller melee stones that truly enhance the large, center stone. I've seen rings where the center stone was under a ct. and I assumed the halo was added to make it have more finger presence. Either way, it's all down to personal preference, right?

Initially, my fiance and I were thinking of halo-ing her center stone (like when we were ring shopping) but then we got to thinking: what if people think we're doing that to make the center stone appear larger? So we scrapped that, cuz we didn't want people to second guess our choice.

I think the haloes are nice when the work is very detailed and intricate, and it's not so bulky. I think they look best wit smaller melee stones.

Are you thinking of this?

My two reason for haloing my diamond

1- I love the look of a halo. Simple....elegant...timeless
2- After 6 months DSS sank in and a halo is cheaper then a big upgrade
