yes. A wrestling cheerleader for oh about two months, until they band all non-academic related clubs due to the gay/lesbian club issue back in the days, but kept PEP club?

I''m not even coordinated at all now.
What year was it? That makes no sense.

Oh, and no I was never a cheerleader. Not my thing.

Nope. I was pretty anti-cheerleading in school. Many of my friends were cheerleaders but they also confided in me about how much they hated it but stuck with it because of parental or peer pressure. Not saying that happens to everyone, but that was my experience.

I was from age 9-17. It was fun. In high school it kept me in shape and out of trouble (for the most part).

I was a varsity cheerleader in HS, but I had to quit the last year to focus on dance, because cheerleading was taking up too much time. I really preferred dance to cheerleading, but it looked good on the college apps.

Yup, I was a cheerleader in middle school and high school. Loved it!

No, I played drums in the band instead!

Yes, my freshman year and then that same year I was in track as a long-distance runner. From sophmore year on, I didn't do any other sports because I didn't like the atmosphere and attitude. My personality shifted quite a bit and I was learning more about who I was and what I would rather be doing!

I changed all my friends then.

As an adult, I do dance & step aerobics, yoga, and lift weights. Activities I can do on my own.

No but I was a figure skater...

(along with dance and gymnastics in my earlier years)

I dislocated my knee jumping into the splits during freshman cheerleading tryouts, so I had to bow out.

And then I became an athlete, instead, and played sports all four years. It''s funny how one little accident changed so much about my HS experience. No regrets, though, I love my sports. :)
Just wondering: Do you not consider chearleading a sport?

I was a cheerleader from the age of 10-15, but opted out in high school after I switched schools. It was a lot of hard work--rigorous practices, lots of competitions, stunts, dance, etc. It went above and beyond a little rah rah rah at a football game. I definitely considered it as demanding (if not more) than some of the other sports.

Sorry, I meant that I played competitive team sports, instead. I know that cheerleading is demanding, and I definitely consider cheerleaders athletes. I suppose it''s semantics. What I should have said is that I played competitive team sports where the focus was on winning games, not perfecting performances. I''ve always thought cheerleading is crazy intense, and I LOVE watching the national cheerleading competitions on TV.

I was also a dancer, and I think dance is a similar thing to cheerleading--crazy hard practices, serious athletes, goal: to perform.

Please don''t take offense to my choice of words, it was definitely not my intention to slight cheerleaders. I think they''re awesome athletes.

Nope. I wanted SO bad to be a cheerleader when I was in school, but only the popular cool girls could...that was not me!

yup and it was a ball. Dramatic for sure, but definitely fun. I don''t what cheer squads you all were on though. We were major trouble makers and used to ditch basketball games two at a time to go smoke cigarettes under the bleachers. Haha. We got away with murder just because we were on cheer. It definitely didn''t teach me any values. Haha.
