I would prefer a G color stone. I would rather not have any fluorescence in the diamond. Just my preference.
Does the flouro discount the diamond in an H? I always thought that colorless diamonds (D-F) were discounted if they had flouro but I thought lower colors were helped by it and therefore not discounted.Date: 5/23/2006 6:31:51 PM

I''d have to see them. The med blue could make the H just as comparable visually, colorwise with the G AND save me money because the H color and the fluor would discount the stone.

BTW, I would prefer the G.
In an H color I do not believe you will find much discount, in some of the lower colors you will actually pay a premium, heck, thirty years ago we charged a premium for all fluorescent stones until the investment craze made it a nasty thing because it took time to explain and thus had to be a bad thing...Date: 5/23/2006 6:53:19 PM

I think in general there is a stigma about having flouresence in a stone. Even though it really may help some of the lower colors, people in general don''t really know this and they do not want flouresence in their stone. So jewelers discount them.
Either way, I''d choose the H with flour and get a better deal!
That is kind of what I thought. If I were looking at a J diamond for instance, I would think that some blue flourescence would actually be preferred and hence more expensive.Date: 5/23/2006 7:06:50 PM

I would look at the stones, especially out of doors, the H might not show any fluorescence at all to the eye, and it could actually look better than the G out of doors, it is a must see thing, hard to tell (impossible) from just the cert. Plus it is LOTS of fun at the disco!
