Gypsy weddings. I'm 1/4 Romany gypsy (my husband said I didn't inherit the cleaning obsession they seem to have) and it interests me seeing the way they live. I'm always appalled at their dress sense and they way they dance though. Whats that all about? And how are they so rich?!
That's cool! DH is dirty French. I guess that's a French gypsy? Like in the newsy Sherlock Holmes movie I think... I may be stereotyping... If I am, I apologize... I don't know much about them.

I've never heard of dirty french. I've not seen the Sherlock Holmes movie either. I will have to look out for it. We have a lot of travellers in this country. Not true Romany and very different in attitudes. They camp up wherever they like and annoy the locals. Then they get moved on and cause trouble wherever they end up. I'm not saying all travellers are trouble but a lot are. My grandad was true Romany and as a child lived in one of those gorgeous painted horse drawn caravans. He was a rag and bone man when he grew up. Taking peoples cast offs and selling them. :))

Guilty pleasures? You mean like "Revenge" and "Miami Vice" and "NCIS"? Never! Not when there's something better on, anyway... :wink2:

I will watch Real Housewives of ANYWHERE! My DH gets so mad at me, but they are totally guilty pleasures!

I would never normally buy a DVD set of a TV Series, but I missed most of the first season of REVENGE and thought I would buy it catch up. Well yestereday, I watched about 8 episodes in row, love it! Didn't feel guilty at all, I am on holidays. =) Another show I watch occasionally, if I remember, is a UK show about people purchasing houses and what they end up doing with them.

Also, have to agree with Sharon, I love the Mentalist too! :wavey:

Dance Moms. Wedding shows, tho I don't care for the My Fair Wedding Unveiled shows now. I've not seen Cheer Nation but want to. JD will watch My Fair Wedding and 4weddings w/me but he won't watch Dance Moms b/c he thinks Abby is mean. :loopy:

Now and again we'll watch the cop reality shows, like the one in Las Vegas or wherever, so we can laugh at the weirdos that get brought in. We used to watch Deadliest Catch and Dog the Bounty Hunter religiously.

I just finished all seasons of Star Trek the Next Generation on Netflix and am now rewatching my La Femme Nikita dvd's, then on to the Pretender. My brother bought me the first season of Jem for my birthday so I'll be reliving my childhood shortly.

Teen mom, 16 and pregnant, big fat gypsy wedding (UK version, not "american gypsies"), biggest loser (is that garbage TV?), say yes to the dress or anything wedding-ish...

True Blood! I can't help myself!

HA. My dad gave me a whole collection of She-ra one year for Christmas, including a He-man/She-ra movie. I watched them all and loved it.

"The Next Great Baker." I'm embarrassed at how much I look forward each week to see who does what & who goes. Buddy Velastro's ego makes me want to slap him upside the head, but I can't wait for the next episode.

--- Laurie

P.S. He came here last month & did a dog-&-pony show with his cakes -- tickets were $36, yowza! Needless to say, I thought about the cost of setting stones I want to do & passed it up!

It saddens my husband that I love the Fast and Furious movies, especially Tokyo Drift. It's the only one the features a Porsche, so it's my favorite:

Here's the trailer, so you can see the depth of my sickness; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aScHDjMJjfg :appl: :appl:

My DH said "Well, after 30 years, it's interesting to realize that I'm married to a teenage boy".

Also, a Huge fan of Top Gear. Monty Python meets cars, what's not to love?

Oh Top Gear is just awesome!! DH and I have watched all the episodes! But we only like the original UK one and was very sad when it was discontinued...

Hmm, well I googled dirty French and got nothing. I googled dirty French/gypsy and got nothing. I then googled French gypsy and got a lot of sites about Romani people. I wonder where the word dirty French came from. DH's dad told me a long time ago and that's when I first heard it. Never thought to google it until now. Weird...

:appl: I've got He Man and Thundercats on vhs that my brother gave me years ago, so I need to upgrade them to dvd since we don't even have a vcr anymore. And I've got one season of Transformers from him. HE, otoh, has pretty much everything we used to watch as kids on dvd. He has an 80's room downstairs w/all his stuff in it. We're both hugely nostalgic, tho he will spend money on it and I buy sparklies. ETA: I guess I'm more apt to buy the tv shows I watched than the cartoons, like Muppet Show, Frasier, Pretender, Will & Grace and LFN.

Do you get BBC America? They are showing them all the time! Also, you can buy whole seasons on iTunes.

Their website it awesome, http://www.topgear.com/uk/ and you can get their books on Amazon, which are so funny, I laughed out loud. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2/186-3044215-9229817?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=big+book+of+top+gear DH got me the big book of top gear, 2011 and I have ordered the rest. So funny!

The US version of Top Gear was awful! I watched for 2 minutes, then changed the channel! :?

Thought of another- the Mecum auto auctions. Anyone watch those? I'm not even a car person, yet I find them fascinating.

We watch ours on Netflix. All the seasons are on there. We don't even mind watching ones we already watched! Or we will randomly pick a car, find out what episode it is, and watch it. I didn't know they had books tho! I gotta check it out!

  You have a good DH, iLander.

I like the car auctions too. DH turns them on while he's in bed so he can sneer at all the cars that aren't like his very own.

Well, I'm coming out of left field here, but the show that makes both of us howl with laughter is Finding Bigfoot. One of the regular guys on the team looks like a sasquatch. They discuss what the "squatches" love and hate, like they really know. They'll declare an area "squatchy looking." It's a riot.

Oh my gosh, me too! My dh hates the show as they never find a squatch, despite an hour of looking! The two hour special came on and I just knew he wouldn't want to watch it, so I made up a story that it had been all over the news that this time they actually found one! He sat thru the entire thing, waiting, and waiting and waiting! The special was in Australia. I heard Squatches are attracted to shiny, sparkly so watch out JustGinger and Poppy! :o lol!

I am telling you all this: Pretty Little Liars is one of the best shows EVER! Totally addictive. I think it's back on January 16th. Who is A, we just don't know but she's as elusive as that dam Squatch! :D Seriously, just order the box DVDs of the past season and be prepared to be glued to the TV all night!

And because you all rave about Downtown Abbey I just ordered the last 2 seasons on DVD! I have no idea of when I'll have time to watch them, but I'm gonna find the time! It might be good motivation to get back on that treadmill!

Mine are Mob Wives and all the other Real Housewives shows. I know they're all scripted and ridiculous, but I can't stop watching.

I'm so excited!! The Bachelor starts tonight with that YUMMY Sean as the bachelor this season... drool fest for DD and I!!! :lickout:

I admit to watching some Duck Dynasty.

What's Duck Dynasty? Is it what I think it is? People dressed as ducks acting out a soap opera?

ETA: I googled it. It is NOT what I thought it was! Haha!

Yup! I always call The Bachelor and The Bachelorette my guilty pleasures. People usually look at me funny when I tell them I watch it! I'm excited for Sean! I wonder who the psycho biatch is gonna be this year.

It's the 21st century's answer to the Beverly Hillbillies.
