Guess what??? My blue-green tourmaline is all set and here!

But I don''t have pictures yet! I just picked it up, and the ring is HUGE - the stone''s smaller than the garnet I have in my 7x7 LOGR setting, but the setting for this one came out wider. I do love it though! Pics soon!

Ok one quibble - so I was looking at the ring when I got it home and under the macro lens, and there''s this tiny yellow/gold spot towards one of the corners of the halo. I tried cleaning it but it''s still there - it almost looks like it had been rhodium plated yellow gold and the gold is showing through. I looked at pics I took of the setting alone and don''t see anything in those - so I''m going to have to go back to the jewelers soon and ask what''s up. Other than that, I love it!

My Afghan mint tourmaline is bezeled exactly like yours and I told them not to re-rhodium plate the ring. The bezel is a light yellow as a result, but I love the two tone look. They probably didn't get the rhodium plated fully enough on your ring.

Love your new ring. Upgraded diamonds I assume?

Hey TL! I think something like that might have happened - I did ask them to polish the underside of the ring too, so I wonder if something happened while doing that?

I didn''t upgrade the diamonds. It was a tough decision but way too much money going out now (and I felt guilty for buying the setting in the first place, lol). Although the diamonds look pretty good - better than the ones in my 7x7. And thank you!

What a jeweler told me is that the rhodium will not take if the ring has any finger prints, or oil on it, and it has to be completely clean and polished before replating.
