I've wanted a cushion cut gray spinel for forever - and I finally bought one about 18 months ago. It's a beautiful gem - gray with pink, blue and purple undertones, cut by Jeff...Davies? I'm not sure of his name, but I think that's correct - can someone correct me pls if that's not right? Anyway, various other projects came and went before I got to it, but finally it was time to set it! It's roughly 8.25 x 7.5mm, and the diamonds are 6 x 10 pointers. Setting is in platinum. I won't receive it until next week, but I was too excited not to post the pro photos.
The stone isn't nearly as purple as it came out in the DKJ photos; my photo is a much better representation of the color. But the undertones are strong, and it's moody - showing different colors in different lightings, and I have definitely seen the level of purple in it that's showing up in the DKJ photos. Love it!
