Hi Everyone!

I apologize in advance for not posting my ring yet. I tried it several times but when I uploaded the photos,it would hang up and I had to start all over again! Then DSS hit me right away (after looking at my ring every second of the day, lol!) I have read a lot on DSS and how to deal with it , tried on halo rings and enhancers but I really like the style of my ring ( sorry, I decided not to post it until I have my stone)

I went with WF for my current stone , so I am sticking with them for an upgrade plus I am happy with the performance of my current stone, their pricing a good customer service!

I am currently looking at 1.4ct G VS2 (color and clarity are what I found I'm comfortable with). I was looking for ACA but have been no luck for awhile now, as its always turning out that what they have in inventory is ES (for the category I am looking for). This is where my problem starts. I have reserved this stone, please give me your opinion on based symmetry, ASET and other images. They don't have a copy if the certificate yet , but I already requested in that one.

Here's the link:

Is there anything to be concerned about on the ASET image e.g the 9 o'clock dark spot and the green on the 5 o'clock close to the edge?
What do you think of the ID image regarding the saturation in the center?
I currently have ACA, would I go with this one or just wait for ACA?

Thanks in advance!

Ok, I will post photos anyway.... here it is :)

What size is your current stone? The diamond in the pictures you posted looks about that size. I can't tell if you already bought it or not.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the ES diamond you linked. It's beautiful.

Hi teobdl!

It was nice of you to post a teply here and guve your advice, thank you , I really appreciate it! :)

My current stone is a 1 ct. I planned to go up to 1.7ct but I couldn't justify (in my mind) the price! I am planning to get some studs too, that's why I am settling for 1.4ct so I can can both a ring upgrade and studs :)

I haven't decided on that stone yet as my mind is set on ACA, that's why I was waiting on people's opinion on that stone coz I am not an expert.

So, I shouldn't be concern with the overall performance based on the saturation and the green color on the 5 o'clock position in the ASET image?

The IS is showing some leakage. More than I'd want personally. I'd wait.

The green at 5 o'clock might also be an aberration resulting from taking the image, but I don't have enough expertise to diagnose the reason for it, be it from photography or the diamond itself.

Nonetheless, as a whole the diamond is absolutely fantastic. I would bet lots of money that if someone held up the same size and color ACA next to it, you could not distinguish one from the other.

Can I ask what your rationale is for not going down to SI1? If it's a mind-clean issue--fine. But if it's for fear of there being a performance-related, eye-clean related, or durability related issue, then know that you are totally fine going down to an SI1 as long as you get some good advice along the way about a specific diamond in question.

SI1 will almost definitely allow you to go bigger if they have any in stock.

Yeah, it's weird that the IS is showing a pretty consistent ring of something verging on leakage w/ that combo. The ASET is fine, though, so I'm assuming the IS ring has something to do w/ the setup. It's worth asking WF about to confirm. After all, it is in their ES line, which never has losers in it.

that's the difference with and without backlighting. Shouldn't be visible.

I've seen some duds in the ES line recently. They seem to have relaxed some of their standards. There are definitely some ES stones that are MUCH better than others.

Thanks julieN for chiming in! I noticed that too even on the IS of the ACA's that I checked.

Thanks teobdl , I think you maybe right on the IS image but I when I asked tge SA yesterday she confirmed that it has less saturation of red , but that was just looking at the IS image in their website.

Thank you Gypsy for your suggestion and advice! You have helped a lot of people here in PS :)

I am trying to stay within the budget of 13.5k as I am planning to get studs too.

I have decided to wait for the stone on the categories I wanted within my budget.

It's a long shot I know, but I will take it coz I can't seem to convince myself to compromise on all the other C's, except cost. I know those categories are within my budget. If that stone doesn't come soon I will stat looking for my diamond pairs for earrings , at the end of this year or early next year.

:wavey:

Forgot to add this:
I want to have an ACA even just for my ring, then for studs I don't mind going down on color, clarity and cut including ES , or any ideal cut stone.

The waiting games takes active patience. Checking the site often can be time consuming, but is well worth it if you find the right one. Just beware of the price fluctuations (look at the price chart at the home page of PS--WF usually follows the trend very soon after).

Good luck in the hunt!

It does indeed, but you could ask WF to let you know if a diamond matching your requirements comes in or is already in the pipeline, that might speed things up a bit.
