So I’ve been bitten by the pearl bug thanks to @molinePDG and @yssie

I decided I wanted to try to find a pearl that matched Shales eyes because I love my rescued fur fiend. I couldn’t quite find what I wanted in the colored gem world so I decided to look in pearls.

I asked Pearl paradise if they had any SS that were a deep and almost orange color along their gold SS pearls and they sent me this card. I decided on option B, a 9.7mm AAA grade SS

I threw it into a bracelet real quick just to wear it for now.
I think ultimately I’ll put it in the middle of my little gemmie necklace but I’m waiting for some findings to come in.

I think this SS with the baby gemmies will do a great job evoking shales coloring of gold/orange and white and pink
 
Beautiful gold pearl! I have never seen any that color before, and it is a great match for Shales eyes!

Your pearl is glorious, but Shale is a scene stealer to be sure. Your theme is adorable. I really like your pretty pearl projects!
 
:) You have a swan neck and made for pearls. I love the choker on you. The necklace it's self is excellent on you. ALso, the pearls are absolutely stunning.

However, Shale bring in a rather stiff competition with the honey orange eyes and ginger and white coloring.

Who wore it better?

Shale is usually an inimitable model but girl, those pearls with that Christmas cozy red dress - fur ain’t gonna beat that :bigsmile:

Hats off...not only are your 'cats in pearls' projects gorgeous, but I'm so impressed that you have an idea, acquire the bits and et voilà the project is done!

So this GSS has gone a few iterations. It went from the above to a mixed strand with gold beads:

And then this arrangement with the beads to lengthen it so i could layer it with my “never taking it off” bow

But decided ultimately that while I like the gold beads with GSS color wise, the size is just too awkward and the variation made the strand always lay funny so I gathered up all my akoya and made a classic bubble strand

The color of the gold beads looked great with the GSS but make the necklace looked pinched instead of bubble due to the way I had to string the beads (they have 3.5 mm holes so I need to flank them with tiny 3mm pearls to string them).

I think this looks much smoother and now I have a “classic” strand that still has a bit of a twist in the bubble style and GSS accent.

Shale is always a better model than me
