Go BIG or keep looking?

I'm in an e-ring dilemma. I have been searching for a while on the net and recently took my first real visit to several local shops. I have been quoted several decent stones just below the 3 ct. arena with about a GIA J - SI1 for approx $19k-ish. I haven't really been happy with most of those SI1s because they have all had inclusions right on the face - while they were eye clean I just wasn't happy knowing the inclusions existed...

I recently found a 3.5 ct GIA - K - VVS2 for around $22-23k on the net. I'm aware that K is slightly more tinted than the J region on the chart. But thus said, I don't really want it to be noticeably yellow in the setting. Im planning on either a white gold or platinum setting with a pave / eternity style setting with .10-ish stones...

Can anyone give me an idea of what this may look like in that kind of setting? Is this a good deal or should I keep looking? I know that ideally I should go with a better graded color, but I think that the mere size of this is kind of too astonishing to pass up...? Im kind of stuck here. I have posted a link below:

I really wish that I could find a better color (H-I or better) - around a 3+ ct. - thats eye clean (VS clarity) - and more square than rectangular - GIA - for around or under the $20k area.

What do you guys think?

A 3.5 carat K cushion is going to be tinted.

I can't tell you anything about the performance of the stone from that video.

if they have a good return policy maybe you should have it shopped to you so you can see it in person.

And if so, then maybe take it to an appraiser locally, an INDEPENDENT one, that has an ASET scope and see how it performs. Or buy an ASET yourself.

The faceting pattern has promise though. I can tell you that much.

I would probably order it and see it in person and see how I feel about it.

Thanks for the advice. Im highly considering ordering it.

Could anyone help me find a little bit better color with approx the same clarity and ct.?

Ive been looking around and 3 ct. J - SI1's are in the $23k+ area... Im kind of surprised that I cannot find around a 3ct. I/J VS sub $20k or just above that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Also what do you guys think of that 3.51 ct. in this setting?

I'm not big on that setting for such a large stone. If I had $2k to spend on a setting for a $20k stone I would get a really nice
solitaire setting.

With a K color I would be afraid of other diamonds in the band making the ring look more off color.

REally this is up to you . If you want an ideal cut briallant 3+ carat stone with an under $25,000 budget you are going to have to major compromise on color and clairty. You get what you pay for so you have to be ready to settle. In my opiinion I'd rather have an ideal cut 2.00 with G/H color eye clean si1 than a huge K color stone ( I am not knocking those that love warm colors as that is a choice not a settling for a large stone).....

this is a beaitufl 3 carat stone and is priced appropriately if you want something beautiful and not just a rock look at this http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11660/

2.07 still over budgethttp://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/2.22-carat-g-color-si1-clarity-ideal-cut-sku-249383

OP, have you seen a J 3ct in person? Or even an I 3ct?

Plz go have a look before you buy it. A 3ct J will have a tint, a noticeable tint.

Keep looking.
Personally, I'd sacrifice size to getter better color & clarity.
