Ivana - I was really nervous about the 8-prong settings overwhelming these stones and I get so nervous when I can't see something in real life before I buy it. But I'm extremely happy with how they turned out!

I have teeny tiny 4 prong studs and sometimes they seem to be princess cut and not really round because of those prongs. :/ I actually think this setting with 8 prongs is amazing and it just stresses out the roundness of the earrings without overpowering the diamonds!
You picked a wonderful setting and a great diamond size!
I don't like big diamonds in ears, they look kinda.... gangsta and fake to me.

Ivana, we must have the exact same taste! This is exactly why I didn't go with the 4-prong and I love the roundness from the 8-prong style. I like 6-prongs too but surprisingly its very hard to find 6-prong settings for earrings.
And I'm with you on the size thing too, I tried on studs that were 1/2 ct each and I think that would be the very highest I would go and I almost felt that those looked too big on me. I do think that they look good on some people though, my aunt has studs that are probably about 2.5 ctw and they look fabulous on her.

LOVE. They are PERFECT!! The eight prongs don't overwhelm them at all - they look pretty and delicate, and fabulous in your ears 
I have a pair of similarly sized stones set in that same setting I think - they're beauties! DBL is currently setting another pair of stones into the same style setting for me, and at first I thought I wanted delicate claw prongs but y'know, after thinking about it, the rounded ends suit the 8 prong flowery style so much better! So I requested rounded prongs

Thank you renogirl, armywife, Yssie, MissStepcut, and DandiAndi!!! I'm so in lurve with these earrings I am such a nitpicky person and even when I loupe them, everything about them is perfect... The prongs are all the same size and evenly spaced, they are placed perfectly on the diamonds in relation to their pattern, they are set low so they sit nicely on the ears, the cut is unbelievable and I can not spot a single inclusion in either diamond. I will add that I do think that the pics make the earrings look much larger than they look in real life. The closest representation of the size is probably the 1st ear shot pic.
Yssie, I LOVE your earrings and they were one of the pairs that inspired these! Yours are OECs if I remember correctly? I think the 8-prong settings look awesome with old cut stones but I just don't have the patience to try to find a good matched pair. But I definitely don't have any complaints about these beautiful BGD stones. After seeing the earrings in person, I agree that the rounded prongs suit this style best. Can't wait to see your new DBL earrings (and your new 5-stone), what size will the new studs be?

Thank you! Yup, my first pair are OECs! So are the new pair actually, but they're a bit bigger - 2.5ctw. They were a *total PITA* to find and match... definitely not a job I intend to take on again anytime soon! I posted some pics of them loose on here somewhere...
I've been angsting about them a bit, I confess! I just love the way everything looks all warm and cozy and nestled into everything else in yours - it makes me think of our three cats cuddling together (or maybe I'm just strange..!) I worry that the 8 prongs will be too spaced out to have that same effect on the bigger stones, and I debated going up to 10 or 12 but then we're getting into custom (and custom cost!) territory. Yssie, I bet they will be STUNNING! Now that I think of it, I think I might have seen your new stones in the Show Me Your Diamond Studs thread. I love Bliss's earrings and I think 8 prongs will be perfect on yours too (and I get what you mean about them being all nestled in there!). I just love the rounded, flowery look the 8 prongs give the studs and I think they still have that effect on larger studs too. Can't wait to see them!
