GIA Lab Report: Clarity Characteristics

On the GIA report, the clarity characteristics.....................Pinpoint Finish (some is Cloud Pinpoint Finish).

What do they mean?

Does it say in the comments section something like pinpoints not shown, clouds not shown?

Is it a dossier report? This does not have a plot, but gives comments under clarity. What is the clarity grade?

On the example of a GIA Dossier on their website. The have
Clarity Charecteristics......Pinpoint
Finish
Polish ....................Very Good
Symmetry................

So don't read it as "Pinpoint Finish". Read it as "Finish" is a new category with 2 subcategories; "Polish" and "Symmetry".

For this diamond1(VS1) http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4354/, i can''t find any comments section. There''s only Needle, Crystal under the Clarity Characteristics.

But for this diamond2(VS2) http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4342/, there''s a comments section which says "108CA30211" is present on the table facet.

Why are the needle and crystal not captured in the comments section for diamond1(VS1)?

I believe the comments section is for additional info which cannot be easily classifed under the other section. eg. needle and crystal belongs under clarity.
If there are other clarity issues to be aware of, like clouds or a chip, it will be mentioned under comments. If there are no comments, it means there are no other characteristics worthy of recording..
Also, this 108CA30211 means that the diamond has been laser engraved by the lab that graded it -often a useful additional feature. (not visible at all until under ~40x mag).

I'm not isure if that answers your question..?

nb. the above is only my understanding, pls feel free anyone to correct me if i got it all wrong!!
