Hi,
I use the GIA facetware cut grade predictor a lot.
Yesterday, GIA made some changes to facetware, and it no longer shows the girlde value as a percentage value, instead you get a numerical value. Example a 57 table 35 C 41.2 P yields a 62.8 TD with a 4% girdle, and an exellent cut grade predicted.
Now, the same values yield ''girdle thickness'' 15. I can''t seem to figure out how I can translate this in a % value, relative to the parameters given above. Also, you have to input the TD first, you cannot calculate the TD depending on the girlde % anymore, which is rather annoying.
I can''t find any information on the GIA website how to translate this in a % value, nor any explanation as to how and why they changed it.
Quid?
If anyone can post any links or answers I would be very gratefull.
