This has an HCA of 1.8 -- does the faceting look a little off in the video? Not looking for perfect H&A, just don't want the performance to suffer in any significant way.

I think the faceting looks decent - as you say, not perfect H&A but good!

I think my only caution would be the comments - Clouds being first in an SI1 might suggest it is not 'crisp' or looks 'hazy', but you might not be able to assess it unless you have it in hand.

Clouds and SB fluor together may need checking out as well, I think.

:)

Can you ask JA if they can provide an Aset image? Its facing up slightly small due to depth and slightly thick girdle.

You do not want to buy a D color diamond with strong blue fluorescence. If you do, know that the stone should be discounted because of it.

Thanks for the input @OoohShiny @tyty333 and @headlight !

Unfortunately JA said that they can't provide an ASET due to the pandemic. I guess I will just keep thinking about it some more, ughhh. At the moment my current budget can't cover the size/color I'm hoping for in a pair of super ideal studs, so I'm trying to decide if I should just get the best non-super ideals I can, or ask/convince my husband to up the budget.

What would your return option be? Can you get and return for full credit back to your payment method?
I am in a similar diamond stud predicament....

Not a fan of a D color in conjunction with a fluorescence, much less a strong one. Meeh. It is a bit too deep as well.

put it on hold or it might get bought

I can see the surface graining - not a big issue. The crystals add up to about VS2. So maybe the clouds are borderline and asking the vendor to ask the stone owner for an opinion when seen in daylight (not direct sunlight).

As for D and strong blue - the price would be reflected but I can not understand why you would not want a stong blue D - they sing sweetly when there is no milkyness!
Urban myths get perpetuated!

Yes I don't think a return would be a problem, but I've already ordered and then returned/changed my mind on a pair of round studs and two different asschers, and I always get nervous with shipping diamonds. So I think I really just need to be done! This search has consumed way too much time, so my goal is that the next thing I order will be it.

Good luck with your studs project!! I totally emphasize...it is really tough to figure out which are the most important factors and try to anticipate what I am going to be satisfied with in the long run.

Thanks for weighing in Garry! As you and @OoohShiny noted I do need to think about the clouds, which I had not focused on at all before. Still just thinking about it; I don't think I would be crushed if someone else bought it so maybe that tells me what I need to know haha.

And I am 1000% with you on the fluorescence -- I have an F color EC with strong blue fluor and I absolutely love it. I previously had an F color cushion with strong blue and I loved that one too - neither had any milkiness, and I am a big fan of getting a discount on a colorless stone! I've been hoping to find some great non-super ideals with fluor to maximize the size I can get.
