Hi, I'm new here and need some advice.
I'm looking for a setting that will help me get the most finger coverage. I'll probably stick to the RBC diamond since it seems to be easier to buy based on spec. I was looking at other cuts like princess or cushion because they appear cheaper per carat but when you factor in face up size they all cost about the same.
So back to the issue of finger coverage. Jeweler said halos are the best way to do it. but my GF she hates halos. They are too ubiquitous in her opinion and they hide the center stone. She wants some that show the profile of the diamond in both top and side view.
I saw the Tiffany Ribbon ring in another thread and that would be perfect but unfortunately is way out of my budget for a 1ct ring. I was thinking maybe a 3 stone ring as it has good finger coverage. To her finger coverage laterally across the finger is most important. Otherwise I would go with a marquis cut. But the 3 stone designs I've seen don't really show the profile of the center stone.
Is there a type of setting that can give good lateral finger coverage but not hide the center stone? When she holds her hand out she wants to see the side view of the stone. I was initially thinking some sort of tension setting but they are oriented the wrong way and cover the diamond from her view. It's also hard to find one with side stones.
