Please provide feedback, trying to choose between two stone for a 4 prong platinum solitaire setting. Your thoughts on which has the better cut, as I am not familiar with HCA and if the medium fluorescence will have any impact on the appearance?

Thanks!

Evan

Out of the two, I'd go with the first one, though I'm sure they're both a bit (over?) pricey at IF.
Fluor would not have any negative impact on the stones at IF clarity.

Are you sure you want to limit your inquiry to the gentlemen?

Haha, apologies...Ladies and Gentleman!

Of course I would love your opinion my lady!

Telephone89,

Is it because the Table is smaller that the 1st one you think would be better? Looking at everything else looks very similar.

IF is complete overkill unless it is mind-clean issue for you. You can safely drop to VS and get completely eye clean stones. High clarities don't mean anything in terms of light return - an IF stone will not sparkle more than a VS stone, as long as cut quality is the same.

And clarity has little to do with fluor most of the time, especially at IF since there are no clouds or other major grade setting inclusions.

Can you get idealscopes for them? The 2nd one especially is close to 60/60, so will have less colored light return and more white light return.

Have you run them through the HCA yet?

It is a 'mind-clean' request for my fiance.

I only have Idealscope for the 1st so far. I am not familiar with using HCA. I have research just a little online regarding HCA. Can you advise on with one would be better HCA? I'm assuming the 1st from what I am reading.

Thanks,

evan

I'd get the first one. Looking at the specs it should have better light performance and patterning from what I've read.

I think the angles are more complimentary in the first diamond. FWIW I just spent time with a stone that had a CA of 36 and a PA of 40.6 and it was just gorgeous. I like the smaller table in the first one as well.

Good luck!
