Has anyone purchased any stones from this retailer? They are located in NY

WELL...
I have not personally purchased from them, but I know people that have and they have been disapointed by the poor quality of the diamonds they are using and have returned the pieces. Have you looked on ebay for their feedbacks? a while back it wasan''t too stellar.

Their feedback is pretty good, but I didn''t find too many on loose diamonds. They have a 1.20 ct stone that I''m looking at, with a GIA cert, at $6.7k but I''m concerned about the purchase over the net.

Make sure they are not clarity enhanced.

Well that stone is not a clarity enhanced as GIA will not grade one.

Looks well cut from the numbers.

GIA will not grade clarity enhaced (by filling, they''ll do lasered I believe) diamonds.

Who inscribed H&A? If it was this GemstoneKing vendor you might want to check how they define H&A, etc...

I assume this is for an ering? If that''s the case please just go through a trusted vendor and save yourself the headache.

It''s for an engagement ring

I have purchased from them, and never again. Very poor quality diamonds.

Please don''t use them for an e-ring purchase.

What did you purchase form them? Was it a loose stone? I guess my question is if a stone is GIA certified and all the specs are stated in the certificate, can it be something other than that? At that point, doesn''t it become just a matter of who sells it for how much?

What is their return policy? would you feel comfortable to return the stone and get your money back in te event that you are not liking it?

THey have a 7 day full refund policy. I''m also using a credit card for the transaction, so I''m relying ont hat to give me a bit more security. I''ve attached the actual cert that they sent me. So the question again is after reviewing the cert, could the stone still be "bad" or "poor" as some people have suggeted? What is the biggest risk at this point?

HI neomaxed1
I will not comment on any particular seller- rather general observations:
You''ve indicated that as long as a diamond has a GIA report, it makes no difference where you buy it other than price.
Actually it''s quite a bit more in depth than that.
For one thing, many buyers would rather not buy blind. That might mean actual photos and video of an item- also it might mean having a trusted vendor give them a first hand impression.
In this way, the quality of the seller does come into play.

Definitely arrange for an indep. appraisal within that 7 day period to make sure everything checks out. I''d personally be concerned about the stone and cert not matching, but buying over the net in general scares me, and I will only swim with PS recommended fish.
