Gallery ideas

Hi faithful PSers. As you may know, I am working with BGD on a halo setting for my 3.24 pink tourmaline. I had a nice conversation with Brian tonight about my ideas and I realized that I hadn't had any thoughts on what to do with the gallery. Brian was kind enough to send me a picture of a ring he created recently with a scroll design in the gallery, but it's a little too busy for my tastes. The ring will have a plain shank, so I would like something a little unique in the gallery, but I just don't have any ideas. So...I am asking all of my wonderful PSers for ideas. Pics would be especially helpful, since I have a hard time envisioning things from written descriptions.

Also, the plan is to have the stone bezel set in the halo, but Brian informed me that there is a risk of damage to the stone by bezeling it, so we may do small claw prongs instead (he is going to get back to me on this). The halo will also follow the cushion shape of the stone and the melee will not have a metal edge.

I gave Lesley and Brian my feedback and he's going to come up with some CADs. I'm still interested in ideas from PSers, though....

some pictures to start from might help us. even if they are just your inspiration pics. Do you have any sketches or mock ups that you made or that bgd made and would let you post?

ETA: This is one of my favorite galleries on any ring ever but might be a bit much for yours?? Maybe if you did something like this but in plain metal rather than pave?

Beautiful color! I love the gallery on Stargurl's first suggestion. It flows well from the halo & adds bling without overdoing it. Has my vote.

Oh Stargurl....thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I LOVE the gallery on Boom's 4ct. ring. In fact, I had another picture of that same ring saved as reference for the halo I was envisioning. You're right, though, definitely just metal, no bling, on the "petals". I have asked Lesley to ask Brian about it. Will keep you posted!

Tsavvy, that lotus basket is absolutely gorgeous!!!

I inquired about something similar to Boom's basket and Brian thinks it will look amazing with my ring! I hope Boom doesn't mind that I am using her ring as inspiration. BGD is working on CADs now so hopefully I will have something to show you all soon. As of right now, he thinks we can bezel the tourmaline, but if it does need to be prong set, there will be no airline. I also asked about angling the halo at 25-30%. The shank will be sans diamonds and I've asked that it be as thin as possible without jeapordizing the safety of the stone and to prevent spinning. Brian thinks 2.5-2.7mm would work. What do you guys think?

Is there anything else you guys can think of that I need to consider? Thanks again for all your help!
